Mr Adams was found dead in his office. When his secretary opened the door, he was lying over his desk in a pool of blood. On the floor to his right lay revolver. There was a bloody spot on his temple. There was a suicide note on the desk. It said “Forgive me. I can’t live with my guilt any more.” His right hand held the pen that had written it. The secretary immediately called the police.
When the police inspector arrived, the secretary was crying bitterly, “Why would he want to kill himself? What guilt was it?”
“I am agraid,” said the inspector, “that this was no suicide. This was murder.”

READ THE PASSAGE BELOW, AND SEE IF YOU CAN SOLVE THE CRIME
An elegant man entered a famous jewellery shop in London. He said that he wanted to buy a diamond for his wife’s birthday. The price didn’t matter. After examining a number of diamonds, he chose a wonderful big one that cost 3 thousand pounds. He paid for the diamond, shook hands with the jeweler and left.
A week later the man returned and said that his wife had liked the diamond so much that she wanted another one like it. Ot had to be exactly the same size and quality, as she wanted to make a pair of earrings made. “I would say it’s impossible to find an exact duplicate of that diamond. And even if we could find it, it would cost you a pretty penny,” said the jeweler.
The millionere promised to pay 20 thousand pounds for the matching diamond and left. The jeweller put an advertisement in a newspaper. Many people answered the ad, but nobody had a diamond that was right. When the jeweller had given up hope, a beautiful young lady came into the shop. To his amazement she pulled the perfect diamond from her bag. “I hate the idea of parting with it,” she said. ”I inherited it from my mother, and my mother inherited it from hers. But I really need money.”
The jeweller paid the money, then called the millionere’s hotel. The millionere, however, could not be found.
WHY DO YOU THINK THE MILLIONERE DISAPPEARED ?
