Тема: “ TV or not TV ” «Роль телевидения в нашей жизни»
Тип урока: Урок - обобщение по теме: «Средства массовой информации, телевидение».
Цели:

 Развивающий аспект:

 - развитие языковых, познавательных способностей, ценностных ориентаций, готовности к коммуникации.

Учебный аспект:

- проверить и повысить уровень сформированности навыка распознавания лексических единиц по теме «Средства массовой информации: Телевидение».

-овладение учащимися лексикой, грамматикой по теме (страдательный залог), развитие навыков и умений иноязычной речевой деятельности: говорения монологической, диалогической речи), чтения, письма;

- формирование умения читать с полным пониманием, извлекать конкретную информацию;

- формирование умения учащихся высказываться по заданной ситуации в рамках темы урока;

- формирование умения написать письмо по заданной ситуации на основе пройденного материала.

Комплексные цели:

 -обучение общению на иностранном языке,

- обучение познавательной деятельности с использованием иностранного языка

Воспитательный аспект:

 –развитие социокультурной компетенции;

- расширение и углубление знаний по теме;

- стимулирование интереса учащихся к изучению английского языка;

Место урока в цикле – урок обобщает  тему «Средства массовой информации: Телевидение».

Аспекты языка:

Лексика – лексические единицы и речевые образцы по теме «Средства массовой информации: Телевидение».

Грамматика – страдательный залог.

Виды речевой деятельности: чтение, аудирование, говорение, письмо.

Режим работы: фронтальный, в парах, индивидуальный опрос, работа в группах.

Ход урока

1.        Организационный момент.

Приветствие, предварительная беседа о теме и целях проведения данного урока. (Слайды 1,2,3)

Today we are going to speak about a ‘box”, “telly”, a “google-box”. Can you name the topic of our lesson? Yes, right you are: it’s TELEVISION.

Many people say that TV has brought much violence and troubles with it and the society is under threat. They consider TV to be evil. But is only TV to blame for the troubles the society has?

So, “TV or not TV”.

Of course, we have forgotten what the world was like before TV. But television itself has changed a lot since its beginning. First it was black- and -white, then colour television appeared. Nowadays we use cable, satellite, on-line and  digital television. Cлайд 4)

Television is a huge broadcasting corporation.  It broadcasts a variety of programmes on various channels,  a lot of people of different professions are involved in it.  But television influences people and their life. So, let’s speak about television, the effects it has on people. In other words,  what is the role of television in our life?. (Cлайд 5)

P1: Television plays a very important role in people’s lives. It’s a wonderful source of information and one of the best ways to spend free time. Television viewing is the most popular leisure pastime. It’s not surprising, because TV channels show a great variety of programmes: documentaries and current affairs, feature films and comedies, soaps and police series, concerts and talk shows. P2: I like to watch humorous programmes and feature films. They are relaxing.

P3: Historical  / detective / horror  /  films are my favourite programmes on TV. They are informative and interesting to watch.

The Newscast.

Television, also called TV, is one of the most important means of communication. It brings moving pictures and sounds from around the world into millions of homes. The name "Television" comes from Greek word meaning "far", and a Latin word meaning "to see", so the word "tele vision" means "to see far".

Television keeps you informed about the rest of the world.

It’s a wonderful source of information and one of the best ways to spend free time.

It also helps to escape from our everyday problems.

Many people have forgotten what the world was like before TV. But today television plays a very important role in people’s lives. It is one of the means  of information, entertainment & education. But we watch TV so much that it begins to dominate our lives. Today we will speak about good and bad sides of TV with some Russian celebrities. Meet them, please.

Television is the most popular leisure pastime. It’s not surprising, because TV channels show a great variety of programmes: documentaries and feature films, comedies, soaps and police series, concerts and talk shows.

Television extends our  knowledge about the world  in which we live. Millions of people can see different lands, new plants,  unusual animals and birds, mountains and valleys.

Television is a reflection of the modern world. It gives you an opportunity to travel all over the world, to see different people and to learn about their customs and traditions.

A lot of people usually relax watching soaps (сериалы). Their story lines are entertaining, but often unbelievable.
I don’t think that they show life realistically. But to many people, the characters in the TV serial have become more important than real people. I think television is a terrible waste of time (трата времени).

TV has a lot of disadvantages.  It takes a lot of time and it makes us lazy. It's very harmful for our health, especially eyes.

Sit far from your TV set.

Do not watch TV  during  your meals.

Don’t watch TV  more than 1-2 hours a day .

Watching too much TV  develops addiction! (зависимость)

Don’t be lazy. Do sports. Be healthy! Health is wealth!

I would like to complain about  the amount  of smoking in the films that are shown on TV.

 Smoking is often shown as a very “cool” thing to do, making young people take up smoking themselves.

 Smoking and drinking shown on TV have harmful effect on children.

 Advertising is an important part of commercial TV. Commercials appear between and during most programs. They urge viewers to buy different kinds of products — from dog food to hair spray.

 Not all people like watching commercials. They find ads annoying, silly and boring.

Of course television plays a very important role in people’s lives. But it also has disadvantages.
There are TV addicts who can’t drag themselves away
from the box…

But if we watch TV for an hour a day, to find out what is happening in the world or to relax, then television is really useful. So I think we should not blame  TV for the bad effects it has. We must know how to make the best use of it.

TV shows much violence, fights, killings. Violent programs and films make young  people violent. So TV should be under trial.

Do not watch violent programs.

Watch educational programmes.

Do not watch crime programmes.

Switch the TV while doing  your homework.

Do not watch TV when you are having meals.

Remember ! TV is like a drug.

Don’t become  TV-addicted!
