Topic” CUSTOMS AND TRADITIONS”.
Aim by the end of the lesson: the students will be able to name the country in the UK they would like to visit and the reason of their interest.
Objectives:-the students will study the names of the countries the UK consists of;
-the students will revise lexis and make up derivatives out of the core word;
-the students will make up questions and answer them using the future tenses
-the students will present information about different customs in the UK;
-the students will name the tradition they like best and the reason of their choice.
Language skills:-speaking
-asking and answering questions
Lexical material:-names of the countries, names of traditional food and drinks in Britain.

Naming different countries, parts of the world, nationalities and languages; the words from active vocabulary. Making derivatives. Using derivatives in the sentences. Today we are going to speak about British customs and traditions. Firstly we shall revise our lexical and grammar rules, practice asking and answering questions on the topic. Then you will present short stories about famous British traditions. We shall discuss in class which of them you like best and why. We are going to start with pronouncing some geographical names which may cause difficulties. Repeat after me [e] caviar,travel [λ] London, discover [ei] Wales, space, spaceship [ai] Ireland, science [ò] Scotland, Northern [i] England, discover Now let’s practice derivatives using our new lexis.
