Tara Dakides is an American snowboarder and co-owner of O- matic Snowboards. She has snowboarded since she was 18 years old.
When she was a teenager, she branched out into several other more dangerous sports and became involved in motocross, surfing, mountain- and snow-based sports. This variety of sports experience gave her an edge in the X Games competitions.
At the Winter X Games in 1999 Dakides won a silver medal in slope style and a gold in big air, in 2000 she won two gold medals. In 2001 she won another big air gold medal and she was seventh in slope style. At the 2001 Sims World Championships she was first in slope style and fifth in big air.
She has her own trading cards and appears in video games. Along with her sponsors, she has helped created her own Billabong snow clothing line, Vans snowboard boots, and a signature snowboard with Jeenyus .
Dakides had a role in the film “Chalet Girl” in which she played herself. Also she played in “Out cold”. She took part in different shows and games.
Tara Dakides has a Southern California style, a sense of style in clothes, stunning looks and sense of humor. Tara is one of the first lady of snowboarding.
