4. Learning | - Look at the screen – you see some definitions of learning. Read them and decide on one definition that most sum up for you your belief about what the term means. 5. Learners and learning styles | 1. Tasks 1-4, ‘The A-Z of learning’ 2. Learners and learning styles. No matter in what system of education we work the main object of our work is the child. That is why we should know as much information about our students as we can. And psychological researches of the learning types can help the teacher. - What type of learner are you?(copy) Can you use such tests with your students? What for? 6. Young generation and older generations | - Video ‘Kids today’ - Our students have changed radically. Mark Prensky an American writer and speaker on learning and education writes in his famous article "On the Horizon" that ‘Today‟s students have not just changed incrementally(постепенно) from those of the past, nor simply changed their slang, clothes, body adornments (украшения), or styles, as has happened between generations previously. One might even call this change a “singularity”( оригинальность, своеобразие, странность, необычность, неповторимость, единственность) – an event which changes things so fundamentally that there is absolutely no going back. This so-called “singularity” is the arrival and rapid dissemination of digital technology in the last decades of the 20th century’. Modern techniques for teaching English | To know what modern interactive techniques and activities can be helpful and useful for teaching Digital natives, I want you to make clusters “techniques for teaching English”. Read the clusters. Work with cards with words (ICE – BREAKING EXERCISE, GAMES, DISCUSSIONS, MIMING, ROLE PLAY AND SIMULATIONS, BRAINSTORM, USE OF NEWS PAPERS IN THE CLASSROOM, USE OF INTERNET) and their definitions.
