Young people have a particular relationship with the world. There are many subcultures that have interests different from those of the mainstream culture. A particular cultural grouping is a way for young people to express their identity. Most young people follow some kind of youth culture: hippie, scouts, ravers, punks, bikers, goths and others. But I’d like to present you my created subculture, in which I try to show my own views on life.

The name of my subculture would be Tory. It is connected with the British conservators, who were the founders of this stream. The ideology of Tory’s would be conservatism. These people would like to change the world for the best by preserving the old customs and traditions. Tory would rebel against the extremes of the younger generation. They would be enemies of progress and transformation. They also would stick to the principles of monarchism and agrarism .

One more way to express a Tory’s individuality would be his/her appearance. They would reject modern fashion and prefer to wear classical clothes.

The Tory-girls would always put on such clothes as strict dresses and skirts, blouses and shirts of non-bright colours , classical shoes or high heels. Their hair would be well-cut anytime.

The Tory-boys would wear classical suits, shirts, shoes and, of course, ties. They would’t allow themselves to put on ordinary jeans and T-shirts.

Tory would have their own peculiarities in visual art, dancing, literature, films. For example, they would like listening to classical music and their favourite dance would ballet. Even in their speech, Tory would try to use old words.

Though my subculture is only imaginable, but, on my opinion, it deserves the right to exist, as each person has his/her own point of view and choices in life.
