1. Reading aloud You are going to read the text aloud. You have 1.5 minutes to read the text silently, and then be ready to read it aloud. Remember that you will not have more than 2 minutes for reading aloud. Wombats are exotic animals that only live in Australia. They have become an unofficial symbol of the country. In 1974 a wombat appeared on an Australian stamp for the first time. Since then it has been regularly used on different Australian stamps and coins. Wombats look like little bears and prefer grass to meat. They also love eating berries, plant roots and mushrooms. Like camels, wombats drink little water because there is enough water in fresh grass. Wombats spend most of their life in holes under the ground. With their strong arms and long nails they are able to dig very long and complex tunnels. Fortunately, wombats have few enemies in the animal world. Most wombats live around 15 years.

2 . Answering questions The electronic assistant says before you start: Hello ! It’s the electronic assistant of the Education Counsel. We kindly ask you to take part in our survey. Remember ! You have 40 seconds to answer each question but it doesn’t mean that you should start speaking immediately! You have some time to get your thoughts in order. Take your time ! While answering questions you should : 1.Turn in information , answering different types of questions ; 2. Express your opinion; 3.Give reasons for your answer, if necessary; 4. Be able to give an interview, if necessary; 5. Use the language means of a dialogue correctly Your speech is rated high if: Your dialogue sounds naturally; You omit long complex sentences that are typical for writing; You use parenthetic words , linking words that help you speak more log i cally

3. Monologue You are going to give a talk about photography. You will have to start in 1.5 minutes and speak for not more than 2 minutes . Remember to say :  why people like taking pictures  why taking photos is more popular today than it was in the past  what the best photo you have ever taken is You have to talk continuously.

Now I’m going to give a talk about photography . 1 .In my opinion , taking pictures is really popular now. Many of my friends and classmates have cameras on their mobiles which they use to take photos of everything they like . 2 .Today taking photos is more popular than it was in the past because cameras are less expensive and many people can afford them. You can even take pictures using camera on your mobile phone! Also , there are a lot of social networks, for example Facebook or Vkontakte where people post photos and share them with friends . 3. Personally I have one really great photo. It was taken last year in Rome. You can see my mother and me on it. We are standing near a beautiful fountain in the center of the city. The sun is shining and we are smiling . In the end I would like to say that taking photos helps us save one of the most precious things in life — our memories, which can always be with us when we look at this or that picture.
