In Midtown of Manhattan we can see a lot of jobs and famous skyscrapers. The first of them was built in 1902 and contained twenty storeys. But the majority of skyscrapers were built in the 1920s. The most famous of them are the Empire State Building and the Chrysler Building. The Rockefeller Centre was built in 1930s in the times of the Great Depression and it is the largest business centre in the world. Times Square is one of the most famous places in New York. It got its name from “New York Times” – one of the most famous newspapers in the world. Central Park is a kind of oasis in the middle of a concrete kingdom. It was built and designed in the middle of 1850s. The author of the project was Fred Olmsted. He wanted very much to see in the middle of the city the most beautiful and extremely large park, where all the citizens of the city can have rest.
