Цели урока:
1. Практическая
- актуализация и обобщение пройденного материала страноведческого характера посредством заданий разного типа.
Задачи урока:
-активизировать изученную лексику и фактический материал по теме «The USA»
- развивать навыки аргументированного выражения собственного мнения
- развивать навыки устной речи
- развивать навыки аудирования с целью извлечения конкретной информации по теме
- развивать навыки письменной речи
2. Развивающая
- развитие навыков работы в сотрудничестве
- развитие познавательных способностей учащихся
- развитие словесно-логического мышления
3. Воспитательная
- воспитание уважительного отношения к истории, традициям и культуре страны изучаемого языка
- развитие навыков культуры общения.

ПЛАН УРОКА:
- Beginning: introduction to the lesson, objective-setting.
- Warming up: revising the topic “ Geography. Political System. Presidents”(quiz ”why-questions”)
- Follow-up:
- Listening to the text and doing the task after it;
- Talking about the topic “ American people and their lifestyle”on the basis of the listening task;
- Doing a reading task (group-work)
- Doing a spontaneous task( using the texts and the photos on the smart board)
IV. Results.
ХОД УРОКА:
I. T.: Good morning . I am glad to see you. Today we are going to do a kind of revision. You’ll also learn something new. Look at the board and say what we’re going to talk about at our lesson.
(STUDENTS SPECULATE ABOUT THE TOPIC OF THE LESSON)
II. T.: To warm up let’s revise some facts.We have two groups. Each group will be asked why-questions .You can get one point for the right answer.
(STUDENTS GIVE THE ANSWERS IN TURN)
T.: Let’s sum up your points. ( STUDENTS ANNOUNCE THE RESULTS)
III.1) T.: Now we are going to listen to two people talking about their countries.Listen to the recording once and say which speaker is from the USA. Give your reasons.
(STUDENTS LISTEN AND GIVE THEIR ANSWERS)
T.: Now listen to the second speaker again and complete the table.
( LISTENING AND DOING THE TASK)
T.: Let’s exchange the papers and check the answers.
2) T.: Now using your notes speak about American people and their lifestyle.
(STUDENTS DO THE TASK)
T.: Do you agree that the USA is a beautiful country with a lot of sights?
(STUDENTS ANSWER)
3) T.: You’ll work in groups again.The students of the first group will match the four American
cities with their descriptions. The second group will match the US natural wonders with
their descriptions.There is one extra description which you do not need to use.You have 3
. minutes to do the task.
(STUDENTS READ THE TEXTS AND DO THE TASK IN GROUPS)
4) T.:Now look at the board.You can see the photos of the sights you’ve just read about.Decide
which city or natural wonder you’ll see the photo of and give your reasons.You can use the
information from the texts.
( STUDENTS SPEAK SPONTANEOUSLY DESCRIBING PICTURES)
IV T.: Today you’ve read and talked about America’s famous tourist attractions. I hope you’ll have no problem to make a leaflet “Welcome to the USA” at home.You can either about one place of interest or several ones. On the board you can see the useful vocabulary.
(STUDENTS WRITE DOWN THE HOMETASK)
T.: Can you say which activities you liked most? Why?
(STUDENTS SAY WHAT THEY LIKED MOST GIVING REASONS.

| A …a city of islands. It is also known as the “Big Apple”. The city is mostly famous for its skyscrapers. In fact it was the first city in the world where they were built. Broadway, the Metropolitan Museum, the Statue of Liberty are probably the most famous sights of the city. B …the second largest city in the United States with a population of 3.8 million people. It is the home to Hollywood, known as the centre of movie industry. It is the entertainment capital of the world with its Disneyland and other tourist attractions. Independence Hall, where the Declaration of Independence was signed and the Liberty Bell are the city’s most famous attractions. The US Constitution was written in this city. In fact, the tallest stone building in the city is the monument built in the honour of the first US President. |
