Why do people study foreign languages?

Тип урока: урок обобщения.
Цель урока: Создать условия для активизации лексики учащихся по теме урока и организовать их деятельность по обобщению и систематизации изученного материала в монологической и диалогической речи.
Задачи урока: 
- обучающие:

• развивать умения: вести диалог, выражать свою точку зрения, выделять главное, анализировать

- воспитательные:

• воспитывать интерес и уважение к культуре других стран;
• воспитывать уважительное отношение друг к другу, развивать умение слушать и слышать окружающих;
• воспитывать умение работать в группе и индивидуально, помогать друг другу;
• воспитать в учениках готовность к общению на иностранном языке;

- развивающие:
1) развивать аналитические способности учащихся;
2) развивать логическое мышление, память, речь, внимание, воображение, эмоции;
3) развивать индивидуальные способности школьников.

Методы обучения: фронтальная беседа, работа  с текстом, показ презентации,   аудирование,выставление поурочного балла.
Формы работы: фронтальная, работа c текстом
Оборудование: интерактивная доска, презентация,аудиозапись

Ход урока

1. Организационный момент: Hello boys and girls! I am glad to see you. 

Today we will have a talk about English language. We will answer the question “Why do people study foreign languages?”  You have English language three times a week, write, read, do different exercises, make presentation. Is this knowledge important for you?

Tell me your ideas about role of English language in your lives:

Over the years English has become the most popular and spread language in the world. It’s the native language of such countries as Great Britain, the United States of America, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. It’s also widely used in many European, Asian and African countries for business and studies. United Nations use English as one of their official languages. Perhaps, the reason why English is so popular lies in its importance in different parts of our life. The areas which need English are banking, accounting, agriculture, science, medicine, sales, tourism and many others. Millions of people nowadays go to language schools and learn English as their second language. At the same time nearly all secondary schools in the world have free English classes for children. By its origin English refers to Germanic languages and derives many words from this group. For example such words as house, men, children, oxen came into English from German. Other languages that influenced English were Latin, French, Arabic, Spanish, Dutch and Italian. Many animal, food and scientific words in English are borrowed from these languages, such as zebra, chocolate, geography. There are also many new words that entered English with the appearance of computer technologies. For example, e-mail, wi-fi, Internet, text message, website. Besides, modern English is divided into two groups: British English (BE) and American English (AE).
