People living in modern times have benefited from many discoveries and inventions that have enriched the world. Dedicated scientists spend years and even a lifetime searching for new scientific knowledge and discovering new ways to improve our lives. The most recent significant discoverings to benefit humankind in modern times are in the fields of robotics and computer technology. That was why robots are necessary.

Will robots change our lives in the future? It's a funny question to ask when they're changing our lives now in so many ways and they have been for years. They record our shows, cook our food, play our music, and even run our cars. We just don't see it because these "robots" don't have a face we can talk. I know four things robots can do right now that will change our lives for the future, and all in a good way. The first is entertainment, the second is grunt work in dangerous places, third is elderly care, and last but not least is telepresence shopping, tourism, and assistance. Right now all modern technology is designed to bring the world to you; phone, radio, television, internet, but if trends continue, robots will soon bring you to the world, everywhere, and at the speed of thought. A mind and a hand where it's needed while you sit safely at home and run the show.

Today, military spending is booming again, but the defense industry's sensibility hasn't changed: Defense contractors need to keep costs down, so it's imperative the military robot suppliers and robot manufacturers working for them do, too. Crucial to your cost margins? Flexibility, productivity and reliability. Military robotics are revolutionizing warfare today through the use of advanced technologies that help the military on the battlefield and create a better, more flexible and cost efficient military. Military Robotics can be used to help in the diffusing of bombs for example, or unmanned aerial vehicles can provide a "birds-eye-view" of territories for military troops. In the future, military robotics will include such things as medical robots to help carry wounded soldiers off the battlefield and will be used as prosthetics for injured troops who have had limbs amputated. Robots have been asked to perform jobs in some pretty intense places, from war zones in the Middle East to the surface of Mars to the unexplored corners of Egypt's Great Pyramid.

The use of robots in warfare, although traditionally a topic for science fiction, is being researched as a possible future means of fighting wars. Already several military robots have been developed by various armies. Some believe the future of modern warfare will be fought by automated weapons systems.
