Урок по теме: "Романтическая проза Шарлотты Бронте:  "Джен Эйр"

Роман"Джен Эйр" -  английской писательницы Шарлотты Бронте  во многом автобиографический.  Он посвящен истории скромной,  но гордой и  независимой девушки-сироты.Героиня  книги  Джен  Эйр  упорно  борется  со  множеством препятствий, стоящих на ее пути к самостоятельной жизни и личному счастью.

Цели:

1. дальнейшее совершенствование лексико-грамматических навыков, навыков аудирования, говорения и чтения (a short biography, an extract from Jane Eyre,T/F/DS statements).
2. обогащение словаря новыми лексическими единицами (adjectives to describe people).
3. формирование эстетического вкуса и базовой культуры.
4. развитие креативных способностей учащихся (письмо: а modern version of the story).
5. развитие интереса к английской литературе.

Оборудование:

1. учебник : Spotlight (английский язык) авторов Virginia Evans, Jenny Dooley, Bob Obee,Olga Afanasyeva, Irina Mikheeva .
2. аудиокассета с записью отрывка романа.
3. текст романа.
4. презентация с портретом писателя,мультипликацией стихотворения в исполнении автора и отрывком из фильма.

Ход урока.

1. Организационный момент.

1. Беседа с дежурным.
2. Цели и задачи урока:

5. writing а modern version of the story

Teacher: Dear friends. Today we are going to speak about Romantic fiction. At the first stage of our lesson we'll discuss about the author of  the book “Jane Eyre” by Charlotte  Bronte.

1. What do  you know about the author and her family.(Ex.1 p.34- reading for specific information), слайд № 1.

Student 1:Charlotte Bronte was one of the family of five sisters and one brother, all of whom were quite talented. Bramwell, the boy, was good at writing poetry. (слайд № 2).

Ann wrote poetry and two novels. Emily became world famous as the author of “Wuthering Heights”. But all the children apart from Charlotte died tragically young. (слайд № 3).

Charlotte, the author of the wonderful novel “Jane Eyre” was the only one strong enough to go out into the world and become famous for the most passionate and popular romances in the English language.  (слайд № 4).

Student 2:

It was nearly impossible to believe that these children hadn’t seen anything in the world except the life of their own family. They learned to write stories while they were playing. They didn’t like noisy games because they had poor health. The game they liked was writing little stories of their own.

Teacher: Jane Eyre has been made into several successful films and TV series. We can watch the first part of it.(слайд  № 5 -6).

Teacher: Now let’s go deeper into the contents of the novel. Listen to the extract. Who is narrating the story?(Ex.2 p.34; слайд № 7.)

Teacher: We have some new words in the extract. (ex.3 p. 34 - слайд № 8).

Teacher: You can use hyperbole to express a point through exaggeration. This makes narrative more interesting to the reader.(ex.5 p.35 - слайд № 9).

Teacher: There are some adjectives in the extract to describe the people.

1. cruel
2. educated
3. bad-mannered
4. lonely
5. arrogant

Which of adjectives best describe John, Jane? Give reasons. (ex.6 p.35 - слайд № 10).

Teacher: Portfolio: Imagine the story is taking place today. Write your story.
