The mass media play an important part in our life. They help people to get knowledge about the world. In the past people learn about news from news from newspapers. Nowadays people usually learn what is happening in the country and in the world from TV or radio news programmes or from the Internet. Still we cannot imagine our life without newspapers.

Advantages and disadvantages of newspapers Newspapers do not react to events as quickly as TV,but they usually provide( обеспечивают) us extra detail and comment.

British newspapers In no other country are there such great differences between the various national daily newspapers. The newspapers are divided into two main groups: quality papers and popular papers.

Quality newspapers The times, the Guardian, the Daily Telegraph, the Independent, the Financial Times, the Observer, the Sunday Times and the Sunday Telegraph.
