Цели урока:

- развитие навыков поискового чтения;

- введение лексики по теме «Развлечения»;

- развитие навыков устной речи по теме « Увлечения современных подростков»;

- оценка проектной деятельности.

1.Организационный момент и приветствие.

- Good morning, children! Nice to see you!

- Who is on duty today?

- What’s the date today?

 - Who is absent today?

2. Сообщение темы и целей урока.

- Today we are going to speak and read about teen’s entertainment.  You will also learn the new words .One of our students carried out a survey on this topic and today she is ready to present her results.

3. Речевая разминка.

- Look at the screen and read the statement of a famous US columnist, Ann Landers.

«Television has proved that people will look at anything rather than each other.»

-What  do you think of it?

- Do you agree with it? If not, why?

4.Развитие навыков поискового чтения.

а) Ex.1,p.122

- Read the title of the article and look at the picture. What do you think «square-eyed generation» means? Do you think this describes today’s teens? Read and check.

b) Ex.2,p.122

- Read the teen’s comments on pp 122-123. Who:

- says they aren’t mad about something?

-  uses a certain form of entertainment as a way to relax?

- enjoys something that many other young people enjoy too?

- mentions actors becoming famous for something else?

- can’t stop doing something?

c) Ex.3, p.122

-Explain the words/ phrases in bold and make sentences with them.

a) -What forms of entertainment do young people in your country like? Make a list.

b) - And now we are going to learn some adjectives , which help us to describe forms of entertainment. Look at the screen and repeat the new words.

gripping ['grɪpɪŋ]- захватывающий

relaxing [rɪ'læksɪŋ] - расслабляющий

exciting [ɪk'saɪtɪŋ] - волнующий

pointless ['pɔɪntləs] - бессмысленный;

interesting ['ɪntrəstɪŋ]- интересный

a good laugh  [ gud  lɑ:f] – весёлый

 repetitive [rɪ'petətɪv] – повторяющийся

moving ['muːvɪŋ] – трогательный

boring ['bɔːrɪŋ] - скучный

educational [ˌeʤu'keɪʃ(ə)n(ə)l]- образовательный

entertaining [ˌentə'teɪnɪŋ]- забавный, занимательный

sociable ['səuʃəbl]-  компанейский

-Which forms of entertaining do you like\ not like? Use these adjectives to support your opinion.

6. Физминутка.

- Let’s do this exercise to relax. Look at this figure and try to draw it in one direction and opposite direction with the help of your eyes.

-I hope that you are ready for our classwork again, let’s continue.

7. Предоставление результатов исследовательской работы одной из учениц класса.

-Karina prepared ten Yes-No questions about TV and other popular entertainment forms and carried out a survey in your class, at this lesson she wants to present you the results of her survey.

- This survey shows that practically every student of your class spends much time on watching TV, playing computer games, surfing the net and so on. I think you realize that it is not useful for your health and I hope you won’t turn into anti-social , square-eyed couch potatoes.

- You have worked well and hard. You have known a lot . You have got only good and excellent marks. Well, it’s time to open your mark books and write down the hometask:Ex.7, p.123, your task is to choose the correct word and determine which form of entertainment each sentence is related to.
