Цели:

1 Активизация изученного материала по теме «Известные люди».

2 Расширение кругозора, развитие воображения и внимания.

3 Стимулирование интереса учащихся к изучению английского языка.

Оборудование:

Плакаты с вопросами для игры, таблицы для заполнения, карточки со слогами.

Организационный момент

1-й тур:-Good morning ,boys and girls! Today we will play the most famous game «  The Field of Wonders». Our topic is «  American Presidents». We will remember the outstanding people.

-Сегодня мы поиграем в известную игру «Поле чудес». Наша тема «Президенты Америки».

-Listen to the task, please. You must guess the name of this famous person.

He was born in 1882 and died in 1945. He was the president of the United States who held this post for three terms. He introduced a range of economic reforms to lead the country out of the Great Depression.

He was a politician and a writer. It is interesting to know that he was the tallest president in the history of the US. At the age of 43 he was elected as the president. He was buried in Arlington national Cemetery in Washington.

This American president never lived in the White House. He began his career in the service of his country as a major in the Virginia militia and later became the Commander in Chief of the Colonial Army. People respected him for his courage , honesty and wisdom.

-I want you to listen to my stories. I will describe different writers. You can see their names and the numbers of them  on the blackboard and you will use the cards with the numbers on your desks.

Учитель зачитывает небольшие рассказы- описание известных писателей. Ученики, прослушав рассказ, поднимают табличку с номером, под которым записано имя известного писателя.

        This writer did not go to school  and  got education at home. This person took part in the war  of 1914. The writer began to write detective stories in 1920 and became famous in 1926. This person wrote 68 novels and more than a hundred stories.

         He was born in Oak Park, in Illinois, in 1899. His books «The Old Man and the Sea», «The Sun Also Rains»   and « A Farewell to Arms» were made into films.  He won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1954. As a hunter, fisherman, boxer, soldier, war correspondent and an author, this writer led an active life. He wrote six novels and more than 50 short stories.

         This writer lived in the state Missouri on the bank of the Mississippi. He began to work at the age of 12. He became famous in 1865. His real name was Samuel Langhorn Clemens, but he is best known by his professional name. He was a short story writer and the greatest American humorist.

        This person was born in 1876 in San Fransisco. He was the son of a farmer. His family was very poor, so he had to leave school to make money. He worked as a sailor, a newspaper seller and a factory worker. He wrote his first book in 1898. He lived in Alaska for some years and wrote 152 stories about the North.
