Good morning, Children. I’m glad to see you. Sit down, please. My name is Юлия Андреевна.

Today we are going to learn some new verbs in Past Simple and read the text.  

Now answer my questions, please.                        

What date is it today? (It is the 4-th of April)

What day of the week is it today?(It is Friday)

What time is it now? (It`s 9 o`clock)

Let’s begin our lesson with a phonetic drill. Today we are going to practise the sound [ai]. Look at me and repeat after me. [ai ai ai]- all together. Look at the screen. Here you can see a poem. Listen to me:

My kite is white. (Мой воздушный змей белый.
My kite is light.    Мой воздушный змей легкий.
And it can fly        И он может летать
High in the sky.    Высоко в небе.)

Let's translate this poem. P1, please. Good for you. Now repeat the words with the sound [ai] after me: kite, white, kite, light, fly, high [haɪ], sky.

Read the poem line by line, one by one all together.

Read it sentence by sentence, one by one.  P 1, start, please.

 Now read the whole the poem. P1, P2, P3. Good. Now I see you can pronounce the sound [ ai ] correctly.

Проверка знаний второй формы глаголов в Past Simple: come, do, get, go, have, make,  meet, read, ride, see, speak, swim, take

Now we are to practise the irregular verbs in Past Simple. (Сейчас, мы потренируемся в употреблении неправильных глаголов в P.S.) I’ll give you cards. Your first task is to write the past simple of these verbs; the second task is to complete the sentences; the third task is to fill in the missing words.

1. Write the past simple of these verbs.

       1 make-                    4 say-

       3 speak-                   6 see-

2. Complete the sentences. Use one of these verbs in the past simple.

See, have, swim, go, do

       1 I did my homework.

       2 I saw him yesterday.

       3 She went to the zoo yesterday.

       4 He had a red apple.

       5 We swam in the pool yesterday.

3. Fill in the missing words.

Введение и первичное закрепление второй формы глаголов в Past Simple: cut, put, run, say, write                                      

Now, children, let`s learn some new irregular verbs in Past Simple. (Давайте выучим несколько новых неправильных глаголов в P.S.)

Look at the board. Here you can see some pictures. Try to guess what these people did yesterday. (Что эти люди делали вчера)

This is Ann. She said that she wanted to make a cake.

This is Nick. He cut grass yesterday.

This is Mike. He put all his books in the bookcase.

This is Peter. He ran in the park yesterday.

This is Jack. He wrote poems and recited them at the party.

Did you understand?

Translate the first sentence, etc.

Now, children, look at the Irregular verbs and repeat after me: cut-cut, put-put, run-ran, say-said, write-wrote.

P1 read all the words. Well done!

Open your books at p56, ex2b). Tell Topsy what you and your friends did yesterday. Good. Well done.

Now open your copybooks and write down these verbs. I’ll give you three minutes. Your time is up.
