there lived an old man.
Whose name was Carlo.

He was making a doll.

Появляется Папа Карло

Papa Carlo: I have cut out a son for me. I will name him Pinocchio.

Pinocchio: Pinocchio- it's me. We're friends with my father!

Giuseppe You’ve got a nice son, Carlo. But he is very foolish, he should go to school.

Papa Carlo: Pinocchio, it's time to go to school! Here is an alphabet; here is a sandwich and you may go.

Bazillio: Here's sand under the tree.

Буратино ждет под деревом, появляются пауки

The spider: Foolish, foolish, Pinocchio! You'll have nothing! Gold trees won't grow from coins.

Алиса и Базилио бросают Буратино в пруд, забирают монеты, уходят.

Появляются лягушка.

Появляется Тортила

По дороге домой Буратино встречает Мальвину,  Артемона, Пьеро
