FOOD

People cannot live without food. Where does our food come from? Meat comes from animals and domestic birds, milk comes from animals, eggs from birds. From plants we get fruit and vegetables. A lot of fruit grows on trees: apples, oranges, bananas, pears, lemons and so on. Different food comes from different countries. A lot of fruit grow in Africa and America.

We must buy and eat the right food. We must eat a lot of fruit and vegetables, drink milk and juice. They’ve got a lot of vitamins. We must eat meat, brown bread, eggs, butter and cheese. We must not eat much ice cream, sweets, cookies, cakes and chips. We mustn’t eat much chocolate and jam too. As for me, I try to eat the right food.

PETS AND OTHER ANIMALS

There are different in the world. Some animals are domestic and some animals are wild. Wild animals are elephants, tigers, lions, wolves, giraffes, monkeys, foxes, bears, hares, deer and other. Domestic animals are horses, cows, monkeys, goats, rabbits, pigs and sheep. People keep some animals as pets. They are cats, dogs, hamsters, parrots, fish and tortoises. Some people like to have white mice and rats as pets. Some people keep big wild animals at home. But I don’t think it’s right.

My favourite animal is a horse. Horses help men for thousands of years. Horse is a domestic animal. It’s big. It’s brown, black, grey and white, it has got 4 long legs, a long neck, a crest and a long tail. Horses eat grass and drink water. They can run and jump well. I like horses very much. It’s a very nice and clever animal.

CLOTHING

There are four seasons in the year. Each time we wear different clothes. When it is hot people wear T-shirts, shorts, light blouses and skirts, trainers, socks and sandals. In cold weather people usually put on warm clothes: jeans and trousers, sweaters and jackets, coats, caps and hats. In winter they wear fur coats and caps, high boots and mittens or gloves.

When I think what to wear, I must choose the right dress. I must think, what is good at the stadium and the sports ground and what is good at the party or at school. Pupils have to wear uniform at school.

When we buy clothes or shoes we must try them on and make sure they are our size and that they suit us well.

SEASONS

There are four seasons in the year: winter, spring, summer and autumn. Spring months are March, April and May. In Great Britain May is the first summer month. Spring comes after winter. The days become shorter. Small green leaves in the trees look beautiful in spring. The grass is green. It’s usually warm.

Then comes summer. Summer months are June, July and August. The days are often hot and long in summer. The nights are short. Pupils have the longest holidays.

Autumn comes after summer. Autumn months are September, October, November, but in Great Britain November is the first winter month. Autumn is a beautiful season. The leaves on the trees are red, yellow, orange and brown. Autumn is a “tasty” season – there are a lot of fruit and vegetables.

Winter comes after autumn. Winter months are December, January and February. The days are short, the nights are long. It often snows. The days are cold and frosty. We can enjoy skiing, skating, playing snowballs and sledging.
