The Beatles were the most famous pop and rock group of the 1960s. Their music was popular not only in Britain, but all over the world.

John Lennon learnt to play harmonica at the age of 12 but he wanted to be a millionaire not a musician. He met Paul McCartney in 1955 and they started the Beatles in 1960.
The band broke up in 1970. After that all the members established solo projects.
John Lennon was shot in New York outside his house on the 8 th of December in 1960. George Harrison died on 29 th of November in 2001, at the age of 58.

The Rolling Stones - British rock band, formed July 12, 1962 and for many years compete in popularity with The Beatles.
The group consists of Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Ronnie Wood and Charlie Watts
The band released twenty-two studio albums and eight concert albums in the UK. The global circulation of albums of The Rolling Stones topped 250 million. The Group is one of the most successful in the history of these indicators . In 1989, The Rolling Stones were included in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and in 2004 took the fourth place in the list of 50 greatest artists of all time .
Mick Jagger and Keith Richards were friends from the school, they were united by a love of rhythm and blues, especially the music of Chuck Berry and Muddy Waters. She made her debut artist July 21, 1962 in London, "Stamps club." Professional jazz and blues met a new group of pretty cool, denying her professionalism. But the Rolling Stones (the band's name is taken from a song by Muddy Waters) is not confused.
1965 was a year of international recognition of the group. Triumphal tour in America strengthened its reputation as a leading group in the world. A particular success with the Americans enjoyed later became the world-famous song Satisfaction (I Can not Get No), took first place the American and British charts.
In 1980, the album Emotional Rescue took first place in the national charts after a long break, and the title You hit the top ten songs. 1970 considered the heyday of mature mastery of Rolling Stones. Perfectly executed in the style of a disco song Miss You, brought musicians to the first place in the American charts, it proved that the Rolling Stones are capable of self-development and renewal .

Syd Barrett, the lead vocalist and guitarist of the early Pink Floyd, who created their unique psychedelic sound and most of the band's early songs, including the singles "Arnold Layne" and "See Emily Play" and much of their first album The Piper at the Gates of Dawn. Barrett's name passed into rock folklore when he was kicked out of Pink Floyd in 1968 and, after two solo albums, disappeared from music altogether amid rumors of a drug-induced breakdown. It was estimated that by 2012 the group had sold over 250 million records worldwide, including 75 million units sold in the United States.
