I.   The preface.

The aim of the project  “The Most Beautiful and Strange Flowers of the World” is to investigate  the most beautiful and strange flowers of the world.

During the research of this topic I 've  studied  methods of gathering and analysing  the  information.  I’ve found out  a lot about the topic from  the Internet , books and  magazines.

In the course of the project  I’ve  learnt  such notions as "a wonder of  nature ", "the flowers  as a simple way to lift the spirit". This project  has  helped me to develop  my  creative abilities.

II. The most beautiful and strange flowers of the world.

Flowers are a wonder of the nature. They make the world a beautiful place. Flower is the easiest way to show our  feelings and emotions. When we see beautiful flower, we feel happy. They are a simple  way to lift our spirits. Let us look at some of the most beautiful  and strange flowers that adorn the world around us.

 Bleeding Heart.
The flower looks like  the heart with e droplet beneath. That is why, its name is a bleeding heart. This plant is found in Siberia, northern China, Korea and Japan.

 Parrot Flower.
The flowers are purple and red in colour. British botanist and explorer, Sir Joseph Dalton Hooker, first noted  how its bloom looks like a ‘flying cockatoo’ and from then on, the name has stuck. This rare plant is found in Thailand, Burma and parts of India.

 Ballerina Orchid.
These small plants that grow singly or in groups in different parts across the island of Australia. The flowers are essentially cream in colour, with maroon markings.

 Duck Orchid.
This flower looks just like a flying duck with its wings raised high. The flower is reddish brown in colour, and in rare cases, it is greenish with dark spots, and a single leaf appears near the base of the stalk. It is found in Australia and Tasmania.

 Dove Orchid/Holy Ghost Orchid.
This flower is from South America,  Panama, Trinidad and Costa Rica. It looks like dove. It is indeed one very peaceful looking flower.

Monkey  Orchid.

The orchid is called so because it has  flowers that  strongly resembles the face of a monkey- a baboon. The flowers bear the fragrance of a ripe orange.

Swaddled Babies.

It is a beautiful orchid which is known by the name, Swaddled Babies. The plant grows in the Columbian Andes. Its flowers are large, creamy-white and waxy. The flowers look like a baby wrapped in swaddling   cloth.

There are very many strange flowers in our world. Some look like Dancing Girls, while others look like Laughing Bumble Bees. All in all, Mother Nature  has shown some remarkable creativity with her  beautiful and strange flowers.
