Modern American Flag. The American flag is known as The Stars and Stripes. It consist of 50 stars (which represent the 50 states) and 13 red and white horizontal stripes (stand for the original 13 States). Flag was appeared in 14.06.1777

The First Flag. The 1 st flag was called The Grand Union Flag. It combined the flag of Great Britain with the 13 stripes. It showed that these 13 states were British colonies.

Flag after The War of Independence. A fter The War of Independence, all this states became free and flag changed. The British flag was replace by stars. When a new state entered The Union, a star was added.
