My Grandad , Andrey Nikolaevich Zolotukhin , was born on October ,4 , 1904 in the town of Lebedyan in Lipetsk region . When the war started in 1941 he became a volunteer because he wanted to help to our Motherland. He remembered: “ We lived in poverty but tried to do our best to win the War” .

Soon my Grandfather was wounded in the leg and neck , fortunately, the wounds were not fatal. He recovered.

Andrey Nikolaevich got the rank of Lieutenant. He was appointed as a commandant of the city of Dresden , he worked there until 1946 and then he came back to Moscow. He was awarded with two ” Red star" orders , an order of "Patriotic war" and two medals "For victory over Germany" and "Defense of Leningrad. He died in 1967.

Unfortunately , I have never seen my Grandad but I have always remembered him . I am proud of him and other people who gave their lives for ours. Eternal Memory to all the soldiers !
