Otaku is a term used to refer the people who interesting in anime, manga or video games. Akihabara – neighborhood of Tokyo. It is a most popular gathering site for otaku. History… Anime began at the start of the 20th century, when Japanese filmmakers experimented with the animation techniques also pioneered in France, Germany, the United States, and Russia. The oldest known anime in existence first screened in 1917 – a two-minute clip of a samurai trying to test a new sword on his target, only to suffer defeat . Historians and writers on manga history have described two broad and complementary processes shaping modern manga. One view emphasizes events occurring during and after the U.S. Occupation of Japan, and stresses that manga strongly reflect U.S. cultural influences, including U.S. comics and images and themes from U.S. television, film, and cartoons. Modern manga originated in the Occupation and post-Occupation years, while a previously militaristic and ultra-nationalist Japan rebuilt its political and economic infrastructure.

Their lifestyle. Otaku are very like to watch anime films and manga comics. Big half of the day is devoted to this hobby. Otaku are dress a clothing of their most like anime character when they go in on cosplay festival. Otaku are “ cosplaying ”

My own in otaku subculture: I don’t think that I am otaku ‘ cos I don’t like anime so much. But I’ve watched some of anime films. Now I remember 5 films that I’ve watched: Howl’s moving castle (2004) Laputa . Island in the sky (1986) Nyan Koi Lovely complex Ichigo Mashimaro

My opinion. I think that otaku lifestyle is very boring. I can’t understand how they watching anime all of day. And it is harmful to look in the computer’s monitor so much time. Maybe I don’t understand anything… It’s not bad to take some humour : おかしみ
