My Pedagogical Credo
It’s maybe difficult to say –
What does it mean – a teacher’s way?
It is my life, my joy, my pain
And always work, and work again…
The kids are different and so the same,
My every lesson – not an easy game.
I must, I will, I have to teach,
To make things clear, I must reach.
My English is my joy, delight
If I succeed – their eyes are bright.
Then I am happy, with this award,
But this is not the final word…
The way is long, you must be strong:
Sometimes upset, and all alone…
Don’t wait for gratitude! – I say
Because you’ve chosen this thorny way.
And school again, my kids, the bell.
How many things I want to tell –
It’s so important for us, mankind,
To be hard-working, honest, and kind.
The world is cruel, but, please, hold on,
Don’t stop believing, ‘cause life goes on…
The world is beautiful from your perch,
A lot of things you should research,
Don’t be indifferent, please take care
And always think: “It’s my affair”.
Why do I think about this all?
Do I want to break down the wall?
But now I feel – while my heart is beating
My day, my way will be repeating…
