Сценарий 1. “Intellectual Marathon” («Интеллектуальный марафон»)

Цель:
1. Развитие умений работать в коллективе и принимать совместные решения.
2. Развитие креативных способностей учащихся, тренировка памяти, мышления.         .

Оборудование:
Квадрат с цифрами,  2 маркера,2 листа бумаги формата А4, таблички с буквами A,B,C (для каждой команды)
Ход мероприятия

Организационный момент.
Quiz-master: Goodafternoonchildren! I’mverygladtoseeyouhere. Now we shall organize a competition called “Intellectual Marathon”.
Two teams will take part in a game of the most quick-witted and the cleverest. First, let’s divide the class into 2 teams. Each team must choose the captain, who will represent it.
P1: I’m the captain of the team. The name of our team is “Erudites ”.
Quiz-master: Who is the captain of the 2nd team?
P2: I’m the captain of the team. The name of our team is “Optimists, The cleverest”.
Quiz-master: Today all of you have a good chance to improve your English during the game. Now I’m going to teach you how to play this game. Thegame has 6contests, they are:

1. The ABC game.
2. A magic 5.
3. Parts and wholes.
4. Proverbs and sayings.
5. A tongue-twister.
6. The right choice.

Well, I wish you success. Be active, honest and helpful!

Quiz-master: And now we come to the 1st contest of the game called “The ABC game”. You’ll get some letters from the English alphabet. You must put the letters in the right order, so as to get the word . You have 1 minute to do it. Each team can get 5 points.

Quiz-master: And now we come to the 2nd contest which is called “A magic 5”. Look at the square, each team will take turns in answering questions. Captains will have an opportunity to choose the number. You’ll choose any number you like. “…”, it’s your turn to start.
You can get 5 points for the right answer.
Name 5 school subjects (maths, English language, P.E. or physical education, literature, history)

1. Name 5 sorts of fruit (apples, bananas, plums, grapes, pineapples, lemons, oranges)
2. You’re lucky! You won a prize!
3. Name 5 professions (a baker, a butcher, a grocer, a nurse, a secretary, a typist, a salesman)
4. Name 5 things that people wear (jeans, sweater, t-shirt, shoes, socks, trousers)
5. Name 5, English-speaking countries(Australia, The United States of America, Great Britain, Canada, India)
6. Name 5 wild animals (a tiger, an elephant, a leopard, a bear, a hare, a fox)

Quiz-master: The 3rd contest is called “Parts and wholes”. I need captain from each team. You should combine these parts so as to get a popular name. You can get 1 point for each right answer. (По 2 словосочетания на капитана)

Quiz-master: Our next contest (the 4th) is called “Proverbs and sayings”. Each team will get a list of words. You should rearrange the words so as to make up a proverb. You have 4 minutes at your disposal and can get 5 points for this task.
(Все команды получают одинаковый набор слов, из которых должны получиться 2 английские пословицы). Например, Better late than never. East or West home is best.

Quiz-master: (Tongue twister, №5) I need 1 pupil from each team for the following task. You should read the tongue-twister as quickly as you can 3 times but you are to pronounce it correctly! (5 points)  Например, Put your head on your bed.Run round the playground.

Quiz-master: The 6th contest is called “The right choice”. It’s very important to make the right choice in our life: the right choice of a color, a hobby, a friend etc. Each team should answer my questions. You’ll get the cards with the letters a, b, c. Choose the right answer and show me the card.

Each team can get 1 point for the right answer.
