Пояснительная записка

       Успешное обучение иностранному языку предусматривает не только изучение программного материала во время учебных занятий, но и организацию внеаудиторной работы со студентами, которая способствует языковому общению и приобщению к культурному наследию изучаемых стран и народов.

      Проводимая преподавателем иностранного языка внеаудиторная работа направлена на развитие языковых навыков учащихся, преодоление культурного барьера в общении с представителями других культур и на повышение интереса к изучению иностранного языка, как важной составляющей   профессиональной деятельности будущих специалистов.

    Данная методическая разработка представляет собой сценарий внеклассного мероприятия на английском языке, посвященное празднованию Рождества и Нового года на тему: «Jingle Bells» «Колокольчики» и включает в себя разнообразные лексико-грамматические задания, творческие и музыкальные конкурсы, в том числе:

Конкурсы: «Рождественская викторина». Christmas Quiz.

                     «Составьте предложения». Complete the words into sentences.

                     «Загадки». Funny riddles.

                     «О чем эта песня?» Say what this song is about.

                     «Рождественские елки» Christmas trees.

                     «Расшифруйте стихотворение». Code Poem.

                     «Фонетическое соревнование». Phonetic competition.

                     «Рождественский пирог». Christmas pies.

                     «Кто назовёт больше слов». Word Puzzle.

Мероприятие проводится в форме конкурса между командами двух групп «Snowmen» и «Snowflakes», в котором принимают участие студенты 2 курса группы С-18-1. Преподаватели-ведущие представляют каждое конкурсное задание и комментируют ответы на английском языке, тем самым поддерживая языковую атмосферу соревнования. 

 Материалы методической разработки могут использоваться преподавателями иностранных языков на занятиях при изучении тем: «England», «Christmas», «Traditions» а также найти широкое применение во внеклассной и кружковой работе.

    Методическая разработка внеклассного мероприятия «Jingle Bells» «Колокольчики», выполненная преподавателями английского языка Е.А. Миняевой и Э.А.Унагаевой, содержит большой объем лексико-грамматического и речевого материала, дополнительных сведений по страноведению, культурным традициям Англии.

   Удачно выбрана форма проведения мероприятия - командная игра, которая позволяет создать атмосферу соревнования, вызвать большой интерес к выполнению конкурсных заданий со стороны участников и “болельщиков” команд. Структура и содержание заданий соответствуют уровню подготовки студентов 2 курса, позволяют продемонстрировать не только языковые знания, но и эрудицию, смекалку, быструю реакцию в решении конкурсных задач.

    Преподаватели активно участвуют в подготовительном этапе и в проведении мероприятия, стремятся активизировать мыслительную и творческую деятельность студентов, способствуют воспитанию общей и речевой культуры, эстетического и художественного вкуса студентов.

  В результате внеклассного мероприятия были достигнуты следующие цели: повышение познавательного интереса студентов, развитие их творческой инициативы, умение работать самостоятельно и в команде, развитие коммуникабельности и интереса к традициям страны изучаемого языка.

 Методическая разработка окажет помощь преподавателям английского языка в организации воспитательной работы, проведении тематических классных часов и внеклассных мероприятий.

                                                                                 Рождество - это не просто день, это настроение.

Цели:

Учебно-познавательные:

- расширение кругозора обучающихся о рождественских традициях Великобритании;

-создать условия для закрепления и контроля лексики по теме, формировать навыки монологической и диалогической речи, учить связно излагать свои мысли.

Развивающие:

- развивать память, мышление, речь, языковую смекалку, внимание;

- учить умению включаться в беседу, проявлять заинтересованность, согласие и несогласие, способствовать активизации интеллектуальных и познавательных способностей студентов, учить умению вести групповые обсуждения.

Воспитательные: 

- воспитывать культуру общения и поведения, стремление к взаимопомощи, создать условия для формирования правильных взаимоотношений в коллективе, расширить знания о культурных традициях Англии.

Задачи:

- тренировать употребление лексики,

- учить понимать английскую речь по теме мероприятия,

внеклассного мероприятия

на английском языке «Jingle Bells» «Колокольчики»

Teacher 1: Dear friends and guests! On the 25th of December people celebrate Christmas – a beautiful holiday, which is loved by children and adults. Everything is decorated with lights and toys. We see Christmas trees everywhere. People buy presents and cook special food, send cards and have parties!

Teacher 2: Christmas is for joy, for giving and sharing, for laughter, for coming together with family and friends, for tinsel and brightly decorated packages...

Teacher 1: Today we’ll have an English contest – all the tasks will be connected with Christmas. We’ll learn new facts about Christmas, recite poems and sing songs.

Teacher 2: So, we hope that you’ll enjoy this holiday, and have a good time. Let’s start with a well-known song “Jingle Bells”. All the guests are welcome to join us.

Teacher 1: Now we start our competition.

The team "Snowmen" welcomes you! We are happy to participate in all competitions of our party. Our motto: "Snowmen don't give up!"

• Christmas Wish List
•  Answer: Include things that people, mostly kids and teenagers, would like to get as presents on Christmas.
• Christmas Tree Skirt
• Answer: Looks like a skirt. As a rule, this skirt is put around the bottom of the Christmas tree when the decoration of it is finished. A lot of presents are placed on the skirt under the tree.
• Christmas Tree Farm
• Answer: This Farm specializes in growing Christmas trees. People come do the Farm to choose their Christmas tree and pay for it long before Christmas.
• Christmas Candy Cane
• Answer: Is a stick of red or green peppermint candy stripped white sugar with the  top curved to resemble a walking cane, like walking stick of Santa Claus 
• Holiday Return Policy
• Answer: As a rule, on the next day after holidays, long lines can be seen at the “Customer Service” of every store.
• Santa Mail Box
• Answer: This is a special place maintained in some shopping centers at Christmas time. So you can write a letter to Santa Claus and drop it in Santa Mailbox.

Teacher 1: I’m announcing the 2nd round. We cannot even imagine the Christmas without various puzzles and riddles. Now the both teams are given words at random, you should complete them into sentences and translate them from English into Russian. Your time limit is 3 minutes.

Teacher 2: The 4th round:  Our party is called "Jingle Bells.  Do you know the history of creating this popular song? Listen to the song and say what this song is about.

“Jingle Bells" is one of the best-known and commonly sung winter songs in the world. It was written by James Lord Pierpont (1822–1893) and published under the title "One Horse Open Sleigh" in the autumn of 1857. Even though it is commonly thought of as a Christmas song, it was actually originally written to be sung for Thanksgiving.

"Jingle Bells" was originally copyrighted with the name "One Horse Open Sleigh" on September 16, 1857.It was reprinted in 1859 with the revised title of "Jingle Bells, or the One Horse Open Sleigh". The song has since passed into public domain.

Music historian James Fuld notes that "the word jingle in the title and opening phrase is apparently an imperative verb." In the winter in New England in pre-automobile days, it was common to adorn horses' harnesses with straps bearing bells as a way to avoid collisions at blind intersections, since a horse-drawn sleigh in snow makes almost no noise. The rhythm of the tune mimics that of a trotting horse's bells. However, "jingle bells" is commonly taken to mean a certain kind of bell.

"Jingle Bells" was the first song broadcast from space, in a Christmas-themed prank by Gemini 6 astronauts Tom Stafford and Wally Schirra. While in space on December 16, 1965, they sent this report to Mission Control: "We have an object, looks like a satellite going from north to south, probably in polar orbit... I see a command module and eight smaller modules in front. The pilot of the command module is wearing a red suit...." The astronauts then produced a smuggled harmonica and sleighbells and broadcast a rendition of "Jingle Bells." The harmonica, shown to the press upon their return, was a Hohner "Little Lady", a tiny harmonica approximately one inch long, by 3/8 of an inch wide.

Teacher 1: The 6th round Our students have also the task and have a good opportunity to add several points to their team score. I also have a poem for you but it is put into code. Try to solve this puzzle. You should split the lines into words so that you can read this poem.

Our team presents an English Cranberry Chocolate Cake. Here's it’s recipe.

Ingredients:

Chocolate - 100 g,

Eggs - 4 pcs.,

Sugar - 100 g,

Butter - 100 g

Flour - 75 g,

Cranberry - 200 g

Cooking method:

1. Melt chocolate with butter and sugar in a water bath. Allow to cool slightly.
2. Add eggs one at a time and knead well each time.
3. Add flour. Stir well. Then add cranberries.
4. Cover the form with parchment paper and brush with oil.
5. Pour the ready-made dough into the mold and bake in the oven for 30-35 minutes at 180 degrees.

Our team presents a Russian cake with cabbage and eggs. Here's it’s recipe.

Ingredients:

flour - 1 kg;

butter – 350 grams;

water – 2.5 cups;

yeast – 25 grams;

milk – 200 ml;

egg – 5 pieces;

salt;

cabbage – 1 large loaf.

 Cooking method:

In warm water dissolve the yeast. Divide the flour into 2 equal parts and pound to mix with the swollen yeast. This is the basis for the dough – dough. The resulting mixture is covered with a towel made of natural material that penetrated through the air, and set aside for 2 hours.
2 beat eggs, adding salt and a spoonful of sugar. A lot to combine with the remaining flour, pre-sifted. To enter into the milk and knead the dough.
The dough is mixed with yeast mixture until smooth. On floured Board knead the dough with oil. Pre-the butter should be frozen. To hit and roll out.
To prepare the filling you need to grind the cabbage with a sharp knife and pour boiling water. In a pan melt the butter, add chopped cabbage and fry until soft.
3 boil hard-boiled eggs, finely chop. Mix them with the cooled cabbage, salt and pepper to taste.
On the rolled out layer of dough evenly put the filling and place on a baking sheet. Bake in a preheated oven at 180-200 degrees for 35-40 minutes.

Teacher 2: Round 9 – Word Puzzle. The teams should name all the words they know about winter time, winter holiday and winter subjects.
