  There are a lot of days in the calendar. But every child has a favourite day when he or she   can travel, arrange parties, have fun playing different games or getting wonderful gifts.

  As for me I like the New Year party best of all. It is a magical holiday. Every year we celebrate it at home as it is a family holiday. I would like to tell about the last New Year party which was the happiest day in my life.

  We were very busy on the eve. First of all, we sent invitation letters to our relatives and our beloved granny who lives not far from us. We decorated a fluffy green Christmas tree with lights and coloured toys. Some of them were made by my younger sister. I put a red star on the top of the tree. My mother baked a goose with apples, the most popular food in our family on that day, prepared tasty salads, and for dessert she cooked a delicious cake. I helped my mum to set the table with great pleasure.

  At last the day of the party came. We dressed up and were ready to meet our guests.  They came in the evening. We exchanged gifts and said to each other “Happy New Year!” We enjoyed the tasty meal, sang songs about winter, danced and played interesting party games.

  The most surprising thing was the visit of Father Frost and his granddaughter. All children began to recite poems. Then we joined hands and sang songs around the Christmas tree. We got wonderful presents from the Father Frost and were happy.

  At 12p.m. we went outside. The weather was fine. We played in the snow, it was so soft like fluff, took a lot of photos. My father set off fireworks. It was very attractive.

  So, we had a wonderful family party. All guests, especially I, were happy. It was the happiest day in my life. I am looking forward to the next New Year holiday.
