Book review «the Great Gatsby» by F.S.Fitzgerald.

I chose this book, because in this book covers the most important problems, such as relations between rich and poor people, degradation of the individuality, hopes of saving.

The main character in «the Great Gatsby» is Mr. Gatsby. He is shining hope for young people,  also  he is considered one of the most beautiful persons on the planet. No one in the world had such advantages and opportunities as he has. He is gorgeous. This character differs from any others. Eternal hope, unfading fire of the soul, which only death could stop inside him.

Mr. Gatsby had a friend, whose name was Nick Carraways. In the novel he represented a young man from respectable family. He successfully has graduated Yale University. Shortly before the war, he arrived in New York. Nick became a neighbor of the mysterious Mr. Gatsby. He wasn’t capable of condemning others. Thus this story is told from his face.

Also the main character is Daisy and Tom Buchanan.

Daisy is a relative of Nick, but she doesn’t like he was being raised in a wealthy family. On the one hand this character is alarming, but on the other hand Daisy is mercantile, even selfish.

Tom is Daisy’s husband. Their life includes every problem, which society has got nowadays. I mean the problem of callousness the human soul and a lack of money. The author shows us that with the degradation in society must be fought.

In the novel the action takes place rapidly. Once Mr. Gatsby fell in love with young lady, whose name is Daisy. But she preferred instead of him a wealthy man – Tom. Mr. Gatsby devoted his life to attempt to get rich. Eight years later he mysteriously has returned to the Long-island to influence on life of the local community. He tried to regain his love, but it didn’t happen.  Because Daisy wasn’t ready to give up her previous life with rich husband.

At the end of the novel Mr. Gatsby was killed and he called for Daisy’s name at the time of his death. That was the saddest part of the book. The only person, who worried about Mr. Gatsby was Nick.

I believe that every person is obliged to read this book. You will know about different characters, their mistakes, maybe you will recognize yourself.

That’s why I strongly recommend this book for reading.
