We Love! The Victory Day of 1945! What does it mean for us, children of the 21 st century? What do we know about the war, about the dead soldiers, siege of Leningrad, workers in the rear, children of the war? There is no family in our country which didn’t lose somebody in this awful war. Some of my ancestors also took part in the Great Patriotic War of 1945, and I’m proud of my great grandfather Kinykin Ilja Efimovich. He was born on the 2nd of August 1912 in the village Zarubkino, Mordovia. He worked in the local collective farm as a tractor-driver. He had a wife, 3 children. He went to defend them in 1941. He passed through the war, reached Berlin in 1945 and returned home. He was not thinking about the fame. He protected our country, house, mother, wife and children. After the war he continued working in the collective farm, brought up his children. My grandpa told me a lot about his father. He was kind and hardworking, friendly and hospitable. My great grandpa with his brother and neighbors My great grandpa with his relatives My great grandfather – Kinyakin Ilya Efimovich

He often visited our school and told about the war. He died in 2010. You can see him here with his wife and my English teacher in 2006. Nikolai Vasilyevich Urkov and his wife Zoya Nikolaevna

We are Proud of You! Ryabikov E. A. lived in the village Kargal, Mordovia. When the war began he was only 17. He went through the war, saw much trouble. We visited him, helped him around the house. Egor Alexandrovich liked to tell us stories about his work as a tractor- driver in the collective farm, about his grandchildren, but when we asked to tell us about the war he became silent and very sad. We are sorry Egor Alexandrovich died in March 2015.
