S с hool This is our school. It’s a three-storeyed building. More than 700 pupils study here. Our school is the best! We always feel at home there. Everybody is friendly and easy to get along. We’ll always remember our school years and friendship we’ve made at school. Our school is proud of its pupils. Most of them are very clever, creative, hardworking people and truthful friends. The school is well –equipped. We have two computer classes. Our school tries to follow modern innovations.

Teaching Staff 36 teachers work in our school and teach different subjects. They use modern technologies in the process of studies. Most of the teachers have regional and even state awards for their creative work.

Our pride Mikhail Yuryevich Yagudin, the teacher of Physical Education, served in Afghanistan and participated in military operations.

History of our school: The building was constructed in 1948. They say, it was a hospital during the Great Patriotic War and after it. In 1957 it became a school. First, it was school 64. A year later it was renamed into school 89. In 2008 the school marked its 50 th jubilee.

A New School A new building of our school was started in the summer of 2008. Its construction was finished a year later, in 2009. The ceremony of the laying of the new building was held in the presence of the Deputy of the State Duma V.V.Volodin. Local authorities came to the ceremony of the opening of the new building.

Our Classrooms More than 20 classrooms, a large swimming-pool, a big gym are at the disposal of the children. Most classrooms are well-equipped with computers, Interactive Whiteboards, which are widely used during the lessons.

A sport complex There are sporting facilities including a gym, a large swimming pool, a sportsground. Many pupils are fond of sports and they have a great opportunity to go in for different sports there.

School Studies In our school children receive compulsory education for the first nine years at school, which gives them a broad base for further study in whatever direction they may choose. Our school nowadays has, in the top two classes, a bias which leads to a speciality, such as Economics, Mathematics, Social Studies or Chemistry and Biology and others.

Those students who want to connect their future career with medical course have practice in the hospital. They even receive a special certificate which gives them a chance to enter the Medical College in future. So, after the ninth form, at the age of 15-16 young people may transfer to another school according to their special interests. It is up to the children and their parents to decide or to choose their future career.

We are proud of them! They take part in school, district and city contests in different subjects and win them.

Our students take part in social projects and are members of the regional youth organisations and movements: Sinegoria, Danko, Scout organisation.

The Best Dancers Alyona Matyushina, Kristina Yesina and Aleksey Golishnikov have become laureattes of the city, regional and all Russian contests

Our Awards The best pupils have been awarded diplomas and other prizes. Every year they become winners of different contests and competitions.

Sophia Chukanova I love my school with its new and old buildings, naughty pupils, well qualified teachers who are very kind. But, I would like to mention that we spend much time at school, so I would like to have a good canteen. I mean its size. I want the canteen to be cosy and light. I would like all extracurricular activities to take place in the assembly hall. Unfortunately, we don’ t have it.

In the future I would like teachers to give us less homework. Then I would also like lessons to be shorter. I want that in the future we will have less lessons a day. I dream about a seven-storeyed building of our school. In classes there must be sofas and a table with fruits on it.

Nastya Sitnikova I like my school. Here we have a computer room where we can work with a computer. Also we can use the Internet there. The classrooms are well-equipped and nicely decorated. But at the same time we don’t have enough facilities at school. There are few clubs and I can’t choose one I like. I’d like to play basketball but I can’t.

My school is very good, but I don’t like small classrooms. I like to go to school, because my teachers give me perfect knowledge. I enjoy the food in our canteen, because the cookers prepare tasty dishes, but I’d like our canteen to be larger.

Andrew Kryukov Sometimes I feel uncomfortable with my schoolmates. They call each other names and tease weaker students. Discipline is not very strict in my school. Something should be done.

Artyom Struchkov I’d like to study in a big modern building with lifts and air-conditioners. There must be a café where waiters serve the students. Outside near my school I’d like to have a beautiful amusement park with a merry-go-round where children could always have fun for free of course.

Alina Sinitsina My perfect school is much like the school I study in. However some things could be changed. I’d like our teachers and students treat each other with more respect. Discipline should be more strict. Subjects should be studied by students who are interested in them. I prefer the subjects that prepare us for the life outside school.

Yulia Tikhonova School should start at 11 o’clock. No school uniform. The breaks should be longer than now. Students should only study the subjects they really enjoy. They shouldn’t worry about tests and marks: if they don’t know much, it’s their personal business.

Angelina Novikova I’d like to have a students’ newspaper and radio. There should be more clubs: a photography club, more sport clubs, drama and a dance club.

Sophia Chukanova There should be less homework to do. My homework occupies all my free time and doesn’t leave me time to relax and go in for sports and to do what I want.
