Perspectives and significance of the Chinese initiative "One belt - one way"

Over the past 30 years, the People's Republic of China (PRC) has become one of the most influential world powers. Communist China managed to build its own development model, having formed an effective and attractive economy, different from the economic model of the West.

The initiative "One belt - one way" was unveiled at the XVII Congress of the Communist Party of the People's Republic of China, which was held in the autumn of 2013. It is an international initiative of China aimed at improving existing trade routesand creating newones, as well as economic corridors that should unite more than 60 countries in Asia, Europe,Africa and promote the development of trade relations between these countries and China.

Currently, a lot of international and regional organizations intend to support and participate in the implementation of this initiative.

The concept "One belt - one way" connects the projects "Economic belt of the Silk Road" and "Silk Road of the XXI century".

The project "Economic belt of the Silk Road" laid the foundation of three trans-Eurasian transport corridors:

- North (China - Central Asia - Russia - Europe);

- Central (China - Central and West Asia - Persian Gulf and Mediterranean Sea);

- Southern (China - Southeast Asia - South Asia - Indian Ocean).

The project "Sea Silk Road of the XXI century" involves the creation of several sea routes: from the coast of China through the South China Sea to the South Pacific and from China to Europe through the South China Sea and the Indian Ocean.

Being considered, the initiative "One belt - one way" is designed for several decades. At the moment, its development does not have a clear plan, but it is one of the directions in the PRC movement towards a new world role.

Among the goals that are being implemented within the framework of the project, it is possible to distinguish the construction of regional value chains, the removal of labor-intensive and environmentally unfriendly industries outside the country, accelerating the development of the northwestern provinces of the PRC, and providing Chinese companies with orders.

The main perspectives of the project "One belt - one way" are:

- strengthening the importance of China on the world stage and consolidating the area of ​​its economic influence in Asia;

- elimination of problems in the field of extremism and separatism typical to the western part of the country;

- active stimulation of China's foreign economic activity on the Eurasian space along the route of the "Chinese Silk Road";

- acceleration of the Chinese provinces development in the west of the country.

To implement the abovementioned perspectives, the People's Republic of China should adhere to the following directions:

- maintaining strong diplomatic relations with Russia;

- strengthening of economic cooperation with the countries of Central Asia;

- expansion of humanitarian ties;

- use of the influential SCO base for the implementation of the project "Economic belt of the Silk Road".

The principles of the Strategy are openness, harmony and tolerance, respect for the choice, models and ways of development of each state, the desire for commonality while preserving the differences, expanding humanitarian exchanges, peaceful coexistence and general prosperity.

I believe that the concept of "One belt - one way" is a project of great political and economic importance. It influences various areas of development of many states and entire regions of the world: security, socio-cultural, political and diplomatic aspects of their existence.

In my opinion, the growth of China's influence in the foreseeable future is inevitable. This country is not interested in a global change in the mechanism of the functioning of the world system, but will help to change it in a more advantageous side for itself. Nomination of plans for the development of the "Economic belt of the Silk Road", as well as the "Silk Road" - a step in the activation of the Chinese foreign and external economic policy.

Chinese interests mostly coincide with the interests of our country. We, like China, are striving for our own economic development and political stability.

It is too early to expect great results from the Chinese initiative, for a little time has passed since its inception, but from this we can highlight the main distinctive feature of the "One Belt - One Way" initiative - a complex, time-consuming process of establishing interactions between countries and associations of countries .

The project will still have a significant impact on the world economic system and policies, help solve global problems facing the world community.
