Once upon a time in a far away land there lived a tsar Gorokh with his daughter Helen The Beautiful. They lived happily and friendly. But soon the tsar decided to marry off his daughter. He sent a lot of  heralds to different sides of the land with the edict: “The man who can overcome all obstacles will marry Helen The Beautiful.”         

Zmey Gorynych heard about it. He made up his mind to marry her, because everyone in the world knew about the beauty of tsarevna. So he came and won all the fights. But Gorokh was scared  and he refused to him. Zmey was furious. So he stole Helen. And he took the girl to the far away fields and the deepest lakes.

The tsar was extremely inconsolable. So he issued the edict: “Who saves tsarevna from Zmey Gorynych, will get the half of the kingdom and will marry my daughter.” There was a lot of young man who wished to save the tsarevna and to marry her. A vast of guys went to a far away land. But nobody came back.

And when the tsar lost his hope to see his daughter alive Jack The Giant Killer came to him. He boasted of how he had killed the giant and he promised to kill Zmey Gorynych.

He went to the far away fields and the deepest lakes to save Helen The Beautiful. Finally he found the palace where Gorynych lived. He stood in front of the palace and began to shout: “Go out, the Evil. Come and fight to me.” Zmey Gorynych went out and they started fighting. They had been fighting for a long time. Jack was exhausted. He wanted to have a rest but Zmey Gorynych didn’t give him a small chance

to rest.      

Looking out of the palace tsarevna cried him: “Hit him more stronger, cut him half-in-half and take the trunk out of him. In the trunk there’s an egg. And in the egg there’s the death of Zmey Gorynych.” Jack stood up with all his might for the last time with a sword in his arm and cut Zmey Gorynych half-in-half. He took out the trunk, opened and saw the egg. He crushed the egg and Zmey Gorynych disappeared forever..

Tsarevna Helen The Beautiful was very happy. She ran out to Jack and kissed him. Jack The Giant Killer fell immediately in love with Helen.

They came home. The tsar was very happy and he was running around his palace and was shouting: “Jack The Giant Killer! Jack The Giant Killer! Hooray!”

Jack and Helen were married. And they all lived happily ever  after.
