Plan : to read some literature and know the problem of pollution in the area; to carry some experiments to know the quality of air in the area; to find out about main pollutants indoors; to analyze the results and make a conclusion; to make up multimedia presentations and present the material to the students in our school ; to analyze the results and make a conclusion . Hypothesis : We think we have clean air in the district because Moskovski is near the forest and we don’t have any factories nearby.

The object of the research is ecological problems. The subject of the research is environmental protection. The purpose of the research is to research the pollution in the settlement of Moskovski. To reach the purpose we have to do the following objectives : t o research ecological problems and air pollution to find out what pollutants can affect out health, - to carry out some experiment and make a conclusion. We used the following methods : studying Internet resources, an experiment and analysis.

pollution Air pollution is the contamination of the air, irrespective of indoors or outside. A physical, biological or chemical alteration to the air in the atmosphere can be termed as pollution.

It occurs when any harmful gases, dust, smoke gets into the atmosphere and makes it difficult for plants, animals and humans to survive as the air becomes dirty.

Types of pollution The life of all things living is due to a combination of gases that form the atmosphere; the imbalance caused by the increase or decrease of the percentage of these gases can be harmful for survival. The Ozone layer, which is important for the existence of the ecosystems on the planet, is depleting due to increased pollution. Global warming, a direct result of the increased imbalance of gases in the atmosphere .

Indoor Air Pollution Heating a house by burning kerosene, wood, and coal can contaminate the air inside the house. Ash and smoke make breathing difficult, and they can stick to walls, food, and clothing. Naturally-occurring radon gas, a cancer-causing material, can also build up in homes. Radon is released through the surface of the Earth. Some construction materials, including insulation, are also dangerous to people's health .

Indoor air pollution Household cleaning products, painting supplies emit toxic chemicals in the air and cause air pollution. When you paint walls of your house, it creates some sort of smell which makes it impossible for you to breathe.

Effects On Humans People have bad health effects from air pollution such as pneumonia or bronchitis , discomfort such as irritation to the nose, throat, eyes, or skin. Air pollution can also cause headaches, dizziness, and nausea. Bad smells made by factories, garbage, or sewer systems are considered air pollution, too. These odors are less serious but still unpleasant.

The Experiment After reading the literature and Internet resources we decided to see what is the quality of the air we breathe in. We planned to carry out some experiments and to know the quality of the air in the settlement of Moskovski, where we live in. We have special equipment to measure three types of pollutants in the air- carbon monoxide oxygen, methane and ammonium . We have done our measurements and the results are in the table in the text .

We made up a survey for children to learn what factors can influence the air in our homes. We carried out a survey which showed that many materials used in our homes can cause health problems. Our parents are to be very careful when choosing the materials, paints , home improvement products, and textiles because some of them used in the home can cause health risks. For example, pressed wood products are made of formaldehyde resins.

More than that, most of us have microwave ovens, global positioning systems, cellular telephones, television stations, FM and AM radio, baby monitors, cordless phones, garage-door openers, and ham radios. All these things create magnetic field.

Thirdly, we were going to make up some instructions for children to limit the amount of pollution. Our classmates made up mini projects to find some ways to limit the pollution. We discussed these projects in class and then presented them to other students in our school.

Conclusion One interesting thing is that the amount of oxygen in the district is around 21. And the forest area doesn’t have more but even less oxygen than in the residential area. We can see that the quality of the air in our district is not bad. It doesn’t have any pollutants except carbon monoxide in some places of the district. They are gas stations where the gas for the neighborhood is kept. The bad thing is that there is a playground just nearby, and some lanes where people usually walk.
