Brief summary of the project In this paper I want to talk about ecology in Russia. Find out why the problem of pollution is relevant, how pollution occurs and how it can be prevented.

Main part During the first half of 2018, 39 cases of air pollution and two episodes of emergency were detected. Also recorded 1432 cases of high pollution of water bodies. In addition, 10 episodes of accidental pollution of water bodies and four of soils were registered. In 2015, 944 people died from air pollution in Russia per 1 million. Environmental statistics show that residents of large cities suffer the most.

Causes of pollution and statistics The main causes of non-natural pollution are: chemical plants, transportation, resource extraction, power plants and the man himself. People because of their negligence to nature heavily pollute the environment. Environmental statistics in Russia are much worse than in other countries. Indicators of emissions of harmful substances: sulfur dioxide (SO2) – higher than in France (16.6 times), Germany (10.5), USA (4.2). carbon monoxide (CO) – higher than in Germany (5.3 times), France(3.5), USA (1.5).

Method of pollution control Many countries, especially in the civilized world, have come to the conclusion that companies have to pay certain taxes for the pollution of the environment by their activities. The money collected in this way is used to fight the consequences of the problem in a particular area, for example, in the water sector of the country. Typically, the interaction of the government with the owners of hazardous production is as follows: the object checks for compliance with environmental safety standards and in case of exceeding the established norms undertakes to pay a certain tax, for example, with each ton of generated hazardous substances

Pollution hazard Pollution of nature leads to climate change (e.g. temperature rise). Harmful substances in the ground water and plants. Chemicals cause mutations in living organisms.

Conclusion The problem of environmental pollution is important for the whole world, especially for Russia. The inhabitants of the country should be responsible for nature. Man cannot exist apart from it. He needs clean air, water and food for life. Therefore, if all people unite to solve this problem, you can be sure – the solution will be found.
