My favourite spring holiday is Victory Day. On this day we celebrate the Victory of the Soviet Army over Nazi invaders in the Second World War. I read some books about that war. From them I learned how much the soldiers had loved their Motherland and how selflessly they had fought for its independence.

My great-grandfather took part in that war. My grandmother told me a lot about him. He was born in the village of Ivanaevo in 1904,Tatarstan. My great-grandfather was 37 when he went to the front in November,1941. In the Soviet Army he had served till 1945. I am sure he was courageous and faithful because he was awarded a lot of orders and medals. Tokranov Guriy Ivanovich

In my free time I like viewing photos and awards of my great-grandfather.

Every year on the 9 th of May we go to the monument of the unknown soldier.We lay flowers and honour the memory of all soldiers killed in that war. We listen to war stories and sing the songs of those years.
