Triumphal arch (arc de Triomphe ) in Moscow were built in 1829-1844 years by the architect O.I. Bove in honor of the victory of Russian people in the Patriotic war of 1812. Now located on Kutuzov Avenue (Victory square) nearby to the Poklonnaya hill. Installed Arch on Kutuzov Avenue near victory Park, where she fit right in with the bustle of Moscow life, reminding people of the great feat of the Russian people, who for centuries is the guardian of the Fatherland. The triumphal arch is one of the most significant monuments of the Patriotic war 1812, which silently reminds of those great events, celebrated by many writers of the past.

The history of the monument The history of the monument has its roots in the first half of the XIX century to a distant Tverskaya Zastava , where it was originally built, but not of stone, and of wood materials. Architectural structure crowned chariot of glory, stood on the ledge of monumental columns, which is a magnificent gate decorated with statues of the liberators and the image of the enemy troops leave. But, as a monument to quickly dilapidated and fell into disrepair, soon decided to replace the wooden arch on the stone to keep it for a longer period.
