Catholic monastery of Saint Anthony the Wonderworker

It is t he only building of the Franciscans in St. Petersburg, the Church of Saint Anthony, was built in the mid-1990s. The reconstruction of the building was carried out by the Italian architect Leonardo Brugiotti . After the reconstruction a part of the monastery was occupied by the cells and a chapel. A large place was given to a C harity C enter.

The Basilica Of Saint Catherine Of Alexandria The Basilica of Saint Catherine of Alexandria is a Catholic Church, one of the oldest Catholic churches in Russia.

The Church building was used as a warehouse. In 1977 it was decided to reconstruct the building and it was transformed in the organ hall of the Philharmonic. In February 1984, as a result of arson, in the building there was a fire that destroyed the work of restorers and finally destroyed the interior o f the church.

The catholic church of Lourd’s of mother of god It was built in 1903-1909, for the needs of the French Catholic community by architects L. N. Benoit and M. M. Peretyatkovich . The church was c onsecrated on the 5-th of December. In the late 1940s and the late 1960s,the major overhaul was made. M asters from Latvia painted the walls and vaults of the Church.

The Roman - Catholic Church in the name of the heart of Jesus In 1905 the Catholics of Nevskaya Zastava received a permission to built a temple. In 1907 the foundation stone of the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus was laid.

The project was designed by the architect Stefan Galantucci. The temple was conceived with high Gothic towers and bell towers.

In 1929 there was an intention to close the church, but that didn't happen. In 1936 there was a fire, the building was sealed, and in 1937 the Church was closed .

In 1856 Alexander II ordered the creation of a Catholic cemetery and chapel. The project the cemetery chapel was designed by the architect Nicholas Benoit. In 1859 the built chapel was consecrated. 1 November 1938 the Church was closed. The Church building was rebuilt, at first it was warehouse , after that it was the industrial laboratory. In April 2002, the Church building was returned to the Catholics. Regular services began in 2005.
