The beginning of his career Dashi Namdakov began working in the studio of the b- uryat sculptor Vasiliev in Ulan - Ude . In 1988 he entered the Krasnoyarsk State Art Institute. His teachers were LN Golovnitsky , Y.P. Ishanova , A.H. Boyarlina , E.I. Pakhomova . After graduating Dashi returned to Ulan-Ude in 1992 , where he continued to work in the studio. In 1990 Dashi Namdakov opened a small jewelry shop in Ulan-Ude.

About sculptor He was born in 1967 in Chita region. He was the sixth out of eight children in a large Balzhan Namdakov`s family. DB Namdakov’s family belongs to an ancient clan of darkhans . The best jewelers, craftsmen and artists came from this clan . They were the only ones allowed to work with fire , that is a sacred symbol. Nowadays he has a family : a wife, two children: a son and a daughter.

Dashi Namdakov ’s works were in the form of artistic casting, forging and mixed media. His works w ere made of bronze, silver, gold, copper , precious stones, as well as from bone (mammoth tusk), horsehair and wood. Sculpture, jewelry, graphics and tapestries have a distinct unique architectural style, which is based on the elements of national culture and traditions of Central Asia and Buddhist motifs.

Dashi Namdakov ’s works are exhibited in the collections of the State Hermitage, the Russian Ethnographic Museum in St. Petersburg, the Museum of Oriental Art, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Moscow, in museums around the world, including - the "Tibet House " ( New York) and "Museum of Art " ( Guangzhou, China).

His works Namdakov’s sculptures can be found in private collections of Vladimir Putin ("Element") , M. Sh Shaimiev ("Rider"), Yuri Luzhkov and other famous Russian politics and businesses, as well as in private collections in Germany, France, Belgium, Switzerland, Finland, Japan, USA and Taiwan. RA Abramovich had two of his works "Evening" and "Old Warrior“. Gerhard Schröder , country music star Willie Nelson and actress Uma Thurman were greatly impressed by D.B . Namdakov’s works.

A monumental sculpture of Genghis Khan was placed in the centre of London on the 14 th of April in 2012.

In 2007 he carried out the artistic design of the film "Mongol" . In 2003 he was awarded the silver medal from the Russian Academy of Arts . Namdakov received "Best Art Director Award" for this film " Nika -2008“ , as well as the “W hite Elephant”. Since 2004 Namdakov lives and works in Moscow.

Exhibitions Since 2001 a solo exhibition has been held at famous museums round the world, among them the State Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow, the Hermitage in St. Petersburg .

The exhibition of DB Namdakov “Nostalgia for the basics. The universe nomads of Dashi Namdakov ” was held in St. Petersburg, the State Hermitage Museum, with the support of " Atomenergomash " (the State Corporation " Rosatom "), in the context of the masterpieces of the archaeological collection in 2010.
