Halloween

Children like Halloween very much. It is celebrated on the 31^st of October. It is a colourful festival when children wear costumers of ghost and witches and play tricks with their friends. 

Guy Fawkes’ Night

Guy Fawkes’ Night is celebrated on the 5^th of November, when British people light fireworks and burn a boy of a straw on a bonfire. This is in memory of the time when Guy Fawkes tried to destroy the Parliament in London in 1605. This celebration is often associated with collecting money for charity.

St. Valentine Day

The 14^th of February is a St. Valentine’s Day. On that day most people send “Valentines”, sweets, or roses to someone they love. “Valentines” are the greeting cards in the shape of a heart, or they have hearts, the symbol of love, on them.

Christmas Day

The 25^th of December is a Christmas Day when people celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. People decorate a Christmas tree and Santa Claus brings presents to children.
