The United States of America is located in North America. It is one of the largest countries in the world. The population of the USA is about 250 million people. The USA has 50 states. The largest of America’s states is Alaska. It’s nearly 400 times the size of Rhode
Island, which is the smallest state. But Alaska has half the population of Rhode Island. The capital of the country is Washington DC ( the District of Colombia ). It was chosen as permanent site for the nation’s capital on December 1800 by George Washington. It’s main cities are New York, Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Boston. There are many tall buildings in them that really scrape the sky, that’s why they are
called skyscrapers. It’s highly developed country. It is rich in coal, oil, iron and natural gas. It exports a lot of raw materials, industrials and agricultural products. The United States of America is a federal republic. The American parliament ( called Congress ) has two chambers : the House of Representative and the Senate. The head of State
is the president. He is elected for four years and his powers are limited by the Constitution. Now the President of the USA is Bill Clinton. The flag of the country has 13 red and white stripes representing the original 13 states and 50 stars - for each of the state
of it. Each state has its own national motto, bird and flower as its symbol. America as any other country has its own customs, traditions and holidays. The United States is called “ melting pot ” because people from all over the world have mixed together to create modern America society. The earliest immigrants came from every countries of the world.
People enjoy the wonder of nature practically in every state. The Appalachians and the Rocky Mountains, forest, plains, parties and even deserts, wonderful lakes, water falls and rivers cover the American territory that equals about 9.4 million square kilometers. Together with Hawaii and Alaska it is the 4th largest nation in the world in area
behind Russia, Canada and China. Among the most famous sites of interest are the Great Lakes, Niagara falls, the Golden Gate bridge in San Francisco and other. There are many beautiful Nation park and protected areas of wilderness in America.
Washington D.C.
The capital of the USA is Washington D.C. The city stands on Potomac River and is bordered by the state of Maryland to the north and Virginia to the south.
Washington is the home of all the government institutions for the whole country: Congress, the White House, the Supreme Court.
The Capitol is the seat of the Congress on Capitol Hill in Washington and the highest building of the American capital, any building in Washington should not exceed it on height. Connects to the Washington Monument and statue of Lincoln 1800 m alley National-Mall. To the East of the Parliamentary Centre are the library of Congress and the residence of the U.S Supreme Court (until 1935. meeting of the Supreme Court held in the Capitol. The Capitol is the place, where laws are passed. It has housed chambers of the Senate and the House of Representatives for almost two centuries. The cornerstone of this impressive building was laid by George Washington.
The White House is the official residence and principal workplace of the President of the USA. It is located at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, Washington, DC 20500. All of the presidents of the USA have lived here. But George Washington never lived in the White House because it was finished after his death.

New York City
New York City is the most populous and largest city in USA. It consists of five boroughs: Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island and the Bronx. New York City is composed of five boroughs, an unusual form of government. Each borough is coextensive with a respective county of New York State as shown below. Throughout the boroughs there are hundreds of distinct neighborhoods, many with a definable history and character to call their own. If the boroughs were each independent cities, four of the boroughs (Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan, and The Bronx (Bronx County: Pop. 1,391,903) is New York City's northernmost borough, the location of Yankee Stadium, home of the New York Yankees, and home to the largest cooperatively owned housing complex in the United States, Co-op City. Except for a small section of Manhattan known as Marble Hill, the Bronx is the only section of the city that is part of the United States mainland. It is home to the Bronx Zoo, the largest metropolitan zoo in the United States, which spans 265 acres (1.07 km2) and is home to over 6,000 animals. The Bronx is the birthplace of rap and hip hop culture.
Manhattan (New York County: Pop. 1,620,867) is the most densely populated borough and is home to Central Park and most of the city's skyscrapers. The borough is the financial center of the city and contains the headquarters of many major corporations, the United Nations, a number of important universities, and many cultural attractions. Manhattan is loosely divided into Lower, Midtown, and Uptown regions. Uptown Manhattan is divided by Central Park into the Upper East Side and the Upper West Side, and above the park is Harlem.
Brooklyn (Kings County: Pop. 2,528,050) is the city's most populous borough and was an independent city until 1898. Brooklyn is known for its cultural, social and ethnic diversity, an independent art scene, distinct neighborhoods and a distinctive architectural heritage.
It is also the only borough outside of Manhattan with a distinct downtown neighborhood. The borough features a long beachfront and Coney Island, established in the 1870s as one of the earliest amusement grounds in the country.
Queens (Queens County: Pop. 2,270,338) is geographically the largest borough and the most ethnically diverse county in the United States and may overtake Brooklyn as the city's most populous borough due to its growth. Historically a collection of small towns and villages founded by the Dutch, today the borough is predominantly residential and middle class. Queens County is the only large county in the United States where the median income among African Americans, approximately $52,000 a year, is higher than that of White Americans. Queens is the site of City Field, the home of the New York Mets, and annually hosts the U.S. Open tennis tournament. Additionally, it is home to two of the three major airports serving the New York metropolitan area, LaGuardia Airport and John F. Kennedy International Airport. (The third is Newark Liberty International Airport in Newark, New Jersey.)
Staten Island (Richmond County: Pop. 481,613) is the most suburban in character of the five boroughs. Staten Island is connected to Brooklyn by the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge and to Manhattan by way of the free Staten Island Ferry. The Staten Island Ferry is one of the most popular tourist attractions in New York City as it provides unsurpassed views of the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, and lower Manhattan. Located in central Staten Island, the 25 km² Greenbelt has some 35 miles (56 km) of walking trails and one of the last undisturbed forests in the city. Designated in 1984 to protect the island's natural lands, the Greenbelt comprises seven city parks. The FDR Boardwalk along South Beach is 2.5 miles (4.0 km) long, the fourth largest in the world.[

For many years it was one of the first glimpses of the United States for millions of immigrants and visitors after ocean voyages from around the world.
There are many streets in New York. York. Broadway is a main street and the longest in New York City, USA. It is a center of entertainment and is famous for its many stage plays. This street leads through many boroughs until it comes to Albany the capital of New York. Broadway also has many theatres and cinemas. A stretch of Broadway is famous as the pinnacle of the American theater industry. This is the home of many Broadway theatres. It is also famous for the small area near Times Square where Broadway crosses Seventh Avenue. New York is famous for skyscrapers. The Empire State Building is a skyscraper in New York City, United States. It is 381 meters (1,250 feet) tall and has 102 floors. For forty one years it was the tallest building in the world. It is named after the popular nickname for New York, The Empire State. It was completed in 1931 and is one of the most famous landmarks in the USA. It has been the tallest building in New York City since the September 11, 2001 attacks. The Empire State Building was designed by the architects named Shreve, Lamb & Harmon Associates. It was built at a time when many people were trying to make the world's tallest building, but the Empire State Building was the tallest. It was completed in 410 days.
Rockefeller Center is a complex of 19 commercial buildings covering 22 acres (89,000 m2) between 48th and 51st streets in New York City. Built by the Rockefeller family, it is located in the center of Midtown Manhattan, spanning the area between Fifth Avenue and Sixth Avenue. It was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1987.
It is difficult to get lost in New York . It has a very clever system of streets and avenues. Streets run east to west across the island and are often called cross-streets , while avenues run north to south down the island.

Located in Central Brooklyn, the museum is a half-hour from midtown Manhattan and about 15 minutes from downtown Brooklyn. It is served by the Eastern Parkway–Brooklyn Museum subway station on the IRT Eastern Parkway Line , and the nearby Botanic Garden station of the Franklin Avenue Shuttle.

Central Park is a large public park in the borough of Manhattan in New York City. Central Park has about twenty-five million visitors every year. It is the most visited city park in the United States. The park contains lakes, a castle and the Central Park Zoo. The park has been shown in many movies and television programs.
Walt Disney World
Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida is not just a theme park, but a huge resort complex covering 47 square miles. The resort contains four separate theme parks, three water parks and 99 holes of golf on several different courses. Miles of outdoor recreation are available including hiking, biking, boating and swimming. It has three separate areas containing shopping, dining and entertainment facilities as well as a fourth area with nightclubs. A fairly new addition to the resort is the state of the art sports complex where Disney hosts a wide variety of sporting events. Finally, there are about 18 Disney owned and operated hotels and several non-Disney hotels in the resort. All this combined with many other attractions in the Orlando and central Florida area can be quite overwhelming.
No other Disney resort comes close to the size and diversity of Disney World Florida. If you have previously visited one of the other Disney resorts such as Disneyland California, Disneyland Paris or the new Disneyland Tokyo, you should still visit Disney World in Orlando, Florida. All other Disney resorts consist of a single theme park and are quite small compared to the massive resort complex in Florida. Each of the other parks are no larger than the Magic Kingdom theme park in Disney World, which is only one small part of the complex. Remember, that only the resort in Orlando, Florida is referred to as Disney World or Walt Disney World. The other parks are usually called Disneyland. The size and diversity of the Disney World resort ensures that it will probably remain the number one vacation destination in the world for years to come.
The main attractions at the resort are divided into four theme-parks.Magic Kingdom, the first theme park built at the resort, has rides, shows and attractions divided among seven fantasy areas. This is the place to find all your favorite Disney characters and attractions. Epcot, the second theme park built at the resort, is divided into two areas: Future World and World Showcase. The attractions in Future World are based on modern and futuristic advances in communication, transportation, energy, agriculture and much more. World Showcase allows you to explore culture, cuisine, shopping and entertainment from many countries including Canada, UK, France, Japan, Morocco, US, Italy, Germany, China, Norway and Mexico. The Disney-MGM Studios offers behind-the-scenes looks at the making of movies and popular TV shows and provides live original shows. There are also a number of thrilling rides or attractions based on blockbuster movies, which provide exciting stunts and amazing special effects. Animal Kingdom is the newest and largest theme park to open in the Disney World resort. This 500-acre park is divided into three areas: The Real, The Mythical and The Extinct. The Real area features live animals in exotic landscapes and provides a safari-like experience. In The Mythical area, guests come face-to-face with magical and make believe creatures. In the Extinct Area, dinosaurs come to life.
Los Angeles
The second largest city of America is Los Angeles. Even people who hate the United States love San Francisco. It is also called LA. LA is famous for one of its suburbs, Hollywood, which is the capital of world movie production. The biggest and most successful film studios – Disney, Universal, Fox, Warner Bros, Paramount, Columbia, MGM – are here. These are star factories. In the main streets, such as parkways Sunset and Hollywood are located restaurants, radio studios. L.A. has many famous sights. There are many very long beaches, such as Venice Beach. Many visitors go to Hollywood, home to the Hollywood Walk of Fame and the Mann's Chinese Theater, a large cinema. Los Angeles is known for its large movie and television industry. Much of this is located in Hollywood. Some military aircraft are also made there. The music industry is also concentrated in the area. The city is also a banking center. The San Pedro area has a busy port.
Chicago
Chicago is the largest city in both Illinois and the Midwest, and the third most populous city in the United States, with over 2.8 million people living within the city limits. Its metropolitan area, commonly named "Chicago land", is the 26th most populous in the world, home to an estimated 9.7 million people spread across the U.S. states of Illinois, Wisconsin, and Indiana.
Chicago was founded in 1833, near a portage between the Great Lakes and the Mississippi River watershed. The Potawatomi were forcibly removed from their land following the Treaty of Chicago. The city became a major transportation and telecommunications hub in North America. Today, the city retains its status as a major hub, both for industry and infrastructure, with O'Hare International Airport being the second busiest airport in the world. In 2008, the city hosted 45.6 million domestic and overseas visitors.]

Chicago is home to 15 sports teams. All of the city's major sports teams play within the city limits. There are many museums in Chicago. These include: Adler Planetarium - built in 1930, it is the oldest planetarium in the world, Art Institute of Chicago - has a large collection of American and Impressionist art.
San Francisco
The City and County of San Francisco is the fourth most populous city in California and the 12th most populous city in the United States. San Francisco is a popular international tourist destination, renowned for its chilly summer fog, steep rolling hills, eclectic mix of Victorian and modern architecture and its famous landmarks, including the Golden Gate Bridge, cable cars, and Chinatown. The city is also a principal banking and finance center, and the home of over 30 international financial institutions, helping to make San Francisco eighteenth place in the world's top producing cities, ninth in the Orlando (pronounced is a major city in the central region of the U.S. state of Florida. It is the county seat of Orange County and the center of the Greater Orlando metropolitan region. The Greater Orlando metropolitan area has a population of 2,082,628 while the city-proper population is 230,51. It is the fifth largest city in Florida by population, and the 3rd largest metropolitan area in Florida after Miami and Tampa. It was incorporated on July 31, 1875, and became a city in 1885.
Originally the center of a major citrus region, Orlando is now an urban city with various industries. The area is a major tourist destination and is the home of the Universal Orlando Resort, and SeaWorld. Orlando is also about 21 miles Northeast of Lake Buena Vista, Florida, home of the Walt Disney World Resort. These attractions helped make Orlando the third most visited American city among travelers in the year 2007. Since the establishment of destination tourism in the 1970s, the local economy has diversified, and today the region is the center of operations for companies servicing Central Florida. Orlando is also home to the University Of Central Florida, the largest university campus by student enrollment in the state of Florida and among the largest in the United States.
In 2008, Orlando was listed as a "high sufficiency" world-city in the World Cities Study Group’s inventory by Southborough University and is one category away from becoming a Gamma world city. According to Southborough, Orlando now ranks alongside other cities such as Osaka, Glasgow, and Baltimore.
Miami
Miami is a well-known global city due to its importance in finance, commerce, culture, media, fashion, education, film, print media, entertainment, the arts and international trade. Known as The Gateway to the Americas, Miami is an international center for entertainment, education, media, music, fashion, film, culture, print media, and the performing arts.
The city's central business district is home to the largest concentration of international banks in the United States as well as home to several corporate headquarters and television studios. Additionally, the metropolis' namesake port, the Port of Miami, is one of the leading cruise ship passenger ports in the world in both passenger traffic and cruise lines.
Dallas
Dallas with a population of 1.3 million is the third-largest city in Texas and the eighth-largest in the United States. The city is the primary economic center of the 12-county Dallas–Fort Worth–Arlington metropolitan area that according to the March 2010 U.S. Census Bureau release, had a population of 6.45 million as of July 2009. The metropolitan area is the fourth-largest metropolitan area in the United States.
Founded in 1841 and formally incorporated as a city in February, 1856, the city's economy is primarily based on banking, commerce, telecommunications, computer technology, energy, and transportation; only New York City and Houston are home to more Fortune 500 headquarters in the city limits. Located in North Texas and a major city in the American South, Dallas is the core of the largest inland metropolitan area in the United States that lacks any navigable link to the sea. The city's prominence despite this comes from its historical importance as a center for the oil and cotton industries, its position along numerous railroad lines, a strong industrial and financial sector, and its status as a major inland port (due largely to the presence of Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, one of the largest and busiest in the world) It was rated as a beta world city by the Globalization and World Cities Study Group & Network.
Denver
The City and County of Denver is the capital and the most populous city of the U.S. state of Colorado. Denver is a consolidated city-county, located in the South Platte River Valley on the High Plains, just east of the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains. The Denver downtown district is located immediately east of the confluence of Cherry Creek with the South Platte River, approximately 12.8 miles (21 km) east of the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. Denver is nicknamed the "Mile-High City" because its elevation is one mile, or 5,280 feet (1,609 m) above sea level,. The 105th meridian west of Greenwich passes through Union Station and is the temporal reference for the Mountain Time Zone.
The United States Census Bureau estimated that the population of Denver was 610,345 in 2009, making it the 24th most populous U.S. city. The 10-county Denver-Aurora-Broomfield, CO Metropolitan Statistical Area had an estimated 2009 population of 2,552,195 and ranked as the 21st most populous U.S. metropolitan statistical area and the 12-county Denver-Aurora-Boulder Combined Statistical Area had an estimated 2009 population of 3,110,436 and ranked as the 16th most populous U.S. metropolitan area. It is the largest city within a 500-mile (800 km) radius and the second-largest city in the Mountain West after Phoenix. Denver is the largest city in the Front Range Urban Corridor, an urban region stretching across eighteen counties in two states. The population of the Front Range Urban Corridor was estimated to be 4,328,406 in 2009. The city has the tenth-largest central business district in the United States by population.
Las Vegas
Las Vegas is the most populous city in Nevada, the seat of Clark County, and an internationally renowned major resort city for gambling, shopping and fine dining. Las Vegas, which bills itself as The Entertainment Capital of the World, is famous for the number of casino resorts and associated entertainment. The major attractions in Las Vegas are the casinos and the hotels. The most famous hotel casinos are located on Las Vegas Boulevard on the portion of that road known as the Las Vegas Strip. These larger casinos are located outside of the city. Many of these hotels are massive, providing thousands of rooms, with their large adjoining casino areas. There are many hotel casinos in the city's downtown area as well, which was the focal point of the city's gaming industry in its early days. Several large hotels and casinos are also located somewhat off the Strip, as well as in the county around the city.
Characteristic dishes such as apple pie, fried chicken, pizza, hamburgers, and hot dogs derive from the recipes of various immigrants. French fries, Mexican dishes such as burritos and tacos, and pasta dishes freely adapted from Italian sources are widely consumed. Americans generally prefer coffee to tea. Marketing by U.S. industries is largely responsible for making orange juice and milk ubiquitous breakfast beverages. During the 1980s and 1990s, Americans' caloric intake rose 24%; frequent dining at fast food outlets is associated with what health officials call the American "obesity epidemic." Highly sweetened soft drinks are widely popular; sugared beverages account for 9% of the average American's caloric intake.
