Galina Ulanova was born on January 8, 1910 in Petersburg. Her father Sergey Nikolaevich was the actor and the director of ballet troupe of the Maryinsky Theater, and mother, Maria Fiodorovna, the soloist of the ballet of the same theater. Still absolutely the girl she learned how the ballet is fine.

In September, 1919 Galina Ulanova arrived in the Public choreographic school. But at first it was lost when it was necessary to address audience. Ulanova wasn't beautiful. The magic of her talent consisted in amazing spirituality of dance.

In 1960 Galina Sergeevna began the activity as the teacher-tutor.

The world perceived Galina Ulanova as a sublime ideal as fine dream of perfection and I did it the honors.

Only from ballerinas monuments in St. Petersburg, and Stockholm during lifetime were established to it. In Holland the grade of tulips of "Ulanov" was removed. In France the well-known Pleyel hall after reconstruction opened representation in her honor.

It is so much awards, how many was at Ulanova, none of ballerinas had no: national actress of the USSR, twice Hero of Socialist Work, four times winner of the State award USSR, winner of the Lenin award of 1957. She got an award of a name of Anna Pavlova of the Parisian academy of dance (1958), Oscar Parselli's award "Life for the sake of dance" (1988). Ulanova was the honorary member of the American academy of arts, is awarded the order Komandorsky for merits in the field of art.
