The description of the painting Raphael Santi . Sistine Madonna. 1512 – 1515. In the centre of the painting there is Madonna, holding the Christ Child. She looks straight at a viewer with her dark, calm and expressive eyes. She has brown hair and her head is covered with an ample shawl. She wears long commodious dress which is made of two red and blue pieces of cloth. She stays shoeless. To the left there is Saint Sixtus looking at Madonna and showing something with his hands. Under his head there is a halo. He has a furry beard and he is almost bald. St. Sixtus is wearing an ample cassock of golden colour . To the right Saint Barbara sits putting her hands to the chest. There is also a halo under her head. Her hair is put into a beautiful coiffure. She looks down calmly and kindly. She is wearing a commodious dress, which is similar to Madonna’s, but there are used green, blue and yellow rich clothes.

The description of the painting At the bottom of the painting there are two angels. They seem to be twins. Both of them are brown-haired and have big dark eyes. On their backs we can see small brown and black wings. These angels are not painted wholly, they are drawn like they lean to the edge of the painting with their hands. All the heroes are situated on a big white furry cloud. The image is inclosed by two soft dark green curtains. The background is decorated with hundreds of transparent faces of mysterious souls. Madonna looks as if she is shining. The great calmness and harmony reign in the painting. This masterpiece is one of the world’s greatest etalons of perfect beauty and airiness.
