Пояснительная записка

        Внеаудиторное мероприятие по английскому языку “Around the Christmas Tree” для обучающихся 1 курса разработано и организовано с целью повышения интереса и мотивации студентов к обучению, активизации познавательной деятельности, как на учебных занятиях, так и во внеурочной деятельности. Данное мероприятие способствует эмоциональному и интеллектуальному развитию студентов, знакомит с традициями празднования католического Рождества в Великобритании, воспитанию терпимости к иным культурам.

Мероприятие сопровождается наглядным материалом в форме мультимедийной презентации, музыкальных композиций и сценических образов выступающих.

Форма проведения – внеаудиторное мероприятие.

Цель мероприятия: знакомство с традициями и обычаями страны изучаемого языка, повышение интереса к изучению иностранного языка.

Оборудование: ПК, мультимедийный проектор, экран, презентация Power Point, музыкальное оформление, реквизит для участников, поздравительные открытки.

Ход мероприятия

Играет музыка (Jingle Bell Rock, Bobby Helms), выходят ведущие.

Ведущий 1: 

I love Christmas for many things

Trees, candles, angel wings.

Stars in the heavens,

Snow covered hills,

Little toy trains,

Dolls in their frills.

I love Christmas, ribbons of gold,

Familiar carols, so very old.

Ведущий 2: 

Sweet candy canes,

bright red sleds,

Little ones tucked in their beds.

I love Christmas, but most of all,

 I look forward to a neighbor’s call.

A friendly chat, a cup of tea.

Love in the home

means Christmas to me.
Ведущий 1:

Christmas Day, happy day!

We are glad and very gay.

We all dance and sing and say:

Welcome, welcome, Christmas Day! (все ведущие произносят хором)

Ведущий 2:

Dear guests! We are very glad to see you all!

Ведущий 1:

Our meeting is devoted to the most interesting, the most important, the most beautiful, and of course, the most favourite holiday among all people all over the world - Christmas!

Ведущий 2:

Christmas is celebrated every 25th of December. The happiness and joy that you can feel during this season cannot be explained. It is the perfect time to be with your family, friends, and love ones.

Ведущий 1:

December the 24th is known as the Christmas Eve. In the evening all the family decorate the Christmas tree with toys, tinsel and lights and put presents under the tree (украшают ёлочку).

Ведущий 2:

It is a very popular holiday of most English-speaking countries and today we are going to celebrate it by playing a Christmas game. So we have 2 teams. I give you a minute to think over the name of your team, but it should be connected with Christmas.

Ведущий 1:

Now look please at the word CHRISTMAS. Try to find nouns connected with this holiday that begin from each letter. But the words must be written correctly. (C-carol; H-holy; R- reindeer; I-ice; S-snowman; T – tree; M –mistletoe; A - apple ; S –snowflake).

Ведущий 2: There are a lot of things that make everyone feel the Christmas spirit. When you hear the melody of “Jingle Bells”, most people will immediately imagine snow, Christmas tree, angels, Santa Claus and presents.

And now we will listen the Song “Jingle Bells” (исполнение песни)

Ведущий 2: You think individually but your correct answer brings points to your team.

Ведущий 1: You can see me in winter around

Falling softly from the sky.

I’m white on the ground,

Ведущий 2: He comes at night

So they say.

Then does his job

And goes away. (Santa Claus)

Ведущий 1: I am lit at Christmas night,

I am nice and very bright (a candle)
Ведущий 2: I come when it’s cold

And there is snow

 Each falling snowflake
Makes me grow. (a snowman)

Ведущий 1: I stay in every house

So beautiful and neat

And you can put all on me-

A toy, an angel, a sweet (Christmas tree)
Ведущий 2: It was a great job! Thank you! But don’t you think that Christmas is a romantic holiday, too? Let’s prove it!

Ведущий 2: Have you ever heard about Rudolph? Who’s he?

Ведущий 1: (Ждет ответа гостей) That’s right! He is a Santa Clause’s reindeer.

Ведущий 2: You are going to listen to the song. Look at the words, some of them are missing. Try to complete the song using words below. First, you work individually, then I’ll give you some minutes to compare your answers and make a final variant in your team.

(Гости слушают песню)

Ведущий 2: And now some difficult riddles. I will give you a definition, you try to give only one word, you work in teams. The quickest team will win the competition!

Ведущий 1: Something that you give someone on a special occasion (a gift/present).

Ведущий 2: A religious song of joy and praise sung at Christmas (a carol).
Ведущий 1: A plant with yellowish flowers and white berries that is traditionally used as Christmas decoration (mistletoe).

Ведущий 2: A large open vehicle that is usually pulled by a horse over snow or ice (sledge).

Ведущий 1: A traditional English dessert made of dried fruit eaten on Christmas day (a pudding).

Ведущий 2: The name of the leading reindeer in Santa sleigh (Rudolph).

Ведущий 2: Christmas Day is a time for miracles and realization of wishes.
