The student can partly organize information and ideas into a structured speech. The student uses basic vocabulary, grammatical structures with some errors, which sometimes impede communication, uses some linking devices. Dries out after 1 minute.

5-6

The student organizes information and ideas into a structured speech (introduction, main part, conclusion). The student uses a considerable range of vocabulary, grammatical structures and conventions, makes 1-2 mistakes which do not impede communication uses linking devices successfully. Speaks for 1.30 min

7-8

The student organizes information and ideas into a structured speech (introduction, main part, conclusion). The student uses ambitious vocabulary, complex grammatical structures and conventions, uses linking devices successfully. Speaks for 2 minutes.

Task

Imagine you are a police officer who is invited to give a lecture about crime at school.. Look at the photograph showing a crime. Talk about the crime. Don’t forget to mention the following aspects:

  • Identify the crime
  • What might be the possible cause of the crime?
  • What kind of punishment, if any, would you find the most appropriate?
  • What feelings does this criminal evoke?
  • What preventive measurements could be taken to avoid this criminal act?
