Олимпиада по английскому языку
« Знаешь ли ты английский?»
Цель – вызвать интерес, желание узнать и открыть что-то новое в языке, оценить свои знания объективно.
Задачи:
- активизировать знания, умения, навыки учащихся;
- развивать кругозор, развивать способности к распределению внимания, к догадке, к анализу;
- воспитывать потребности в получении знаний;
- повысить мотивацию учащихся к изучению английского языка.
На выполнение олимпиады отводится 1 час 15 мин. Работа состоит из 3 частей.
Первая часть состоит из десяти заданий, где необходимо выбрать 1 правильный ответ. Задание оценивается в 1 балл.
Вторая часть состоит из 5 заданий, где необходимо установить соответствие между содержанием первого и второго столбцов. Заданияоцениваютсяв 6 баллов.
Третьячастьсостоитизработыс текстом. Необходимо понять содержание текста и установить правильную последовательность текста. Задание оценивается в 10 баллов.

A TRUE FRIEND
1 Once a rich man was returning home. His bulldog accompanied him. The man had a bag of money with him. After riding some miles, the man got off his horse and sat down to rest under a tree. He took the bag of money and laid it down by his side.
Soon he stood up, got on his horse and rode away. He forgot about his bag.
2 The dog noticed this. He ran after his master, and by barking and howling tried to stop him.
The rich man did not understand anything. But the dog continued to bark and howl. First he tried to stop the horse, but in vain. Then he began to bite the horse's heels.
"Oh, my dog has gone mad", thought the man, as the dog continued to bark and bite now with greater strength than before.
3 The man was sure that his dog was mad. He took a pistol from his pocket and took aim.
In a moment the poor animal fell on the ground.
The man went on slowly, but he was very unhappy. He thought he had killed the dog.
"It is better to lose all the money than this dog, my true friend," he said to himself.
4 And suddenly he remembered his bag of money. He stretched out his hand for it, but there was no bag. In a moment the man understood everything. He turned his horse and rode back. He saw the marks of blood on the road, but the dog was not there. At last he reached the place where the forgotten bag lay. His dog was near it.
5 When the dog saw his master, he was very glad. He tried to rise, but he had no strength. He only licked his master's hand, closed his eyes and died.

- The man was sure that his dog was mad. He took a pistol from his pocket and took aim.
In a moment the poor animal fell on the ground.
The man went on slowly, but he was very unhappy. He thought he had killed the dog.

- When the dog saw his master, he was very glad. He tried to rise, but he had no strength. He only licked his master's hand, closed his eyes and died.
