Beelzebufo ampinga

Description-              The species were over 40 centimeters long and weighed 4 kilograms — larger than any living frogs. They had a powerful body, short legs and a very wide mouth with powerful jaws.

Habitat –           America

Food-              They hunted small animals, small vertebrates such as small mammals, lizards and frogs, and perhaps because of their size, they ate newborn dinosaurs.

Character-       In comparison with the living horned frogs, Beelzebufoes were  predators whose expansive mouths allowed them to eat relatively large prey, even juvenile dinosaurs.

The first fossil fragments were found in 1993 by David W. Krause of New York's Stony Brook University. It took 14 years to find them.

 Reason  of extinction

Beelzebufo ampingas  died out 70 million years ago. They died because predatory mammals, began to destroy their tadpoles, which were completely unprotected against those insidious enemies.
