Mankind had always believed that, whatever they did, the Earth would remain the same. But in 21st century such point of view has changed and the whole world‘s faced plenty of ecological problems.

 First of all, it’s the environmental pollution. Huge number of factories, plants, automobiles release harmful gas, toxic waste daily. As the result, air, water, soil, all necessary for existence things are not suitable for living. The resource depletion is another pressing issue.      Natural resources are limited and people can’t use them carelessly.  Without doubt, the increasing number of factories is the root of this problem. Besides, growing population can’t help telling on the resources, and it will lead to the shortage of them.

To my mind, the most urgent one is the global warming, which is also connected with the greenhouse effect. Nowadays, the Earth is warming up, and as a result some species and their habitats suffer from climate change. The fact is, in recent years extreme weather conditions were shown in some regions, including earthquake, tsunamis and hurricanes.

Global problems are those which affect not only one individual but the whole mankind. They can’t be solved in one day and require organized efforts from the whole community. If people leave these problems unsettled, it may lead to serious consequences in the future.

How green are you?

It goes without saying, that nowadays people are concerned more about saving our planet green and clean. Most people claim to be environmentalists, and a great number of movements that try to help people be more environmentally friendly.

 First we should keep ourselves informed about environmental problems. It can really help to prevent us from doing harm. The next step, before you throw anything away stops and think. Someone else might have a use for it. Besides, try to buy products only in biodegradable packages, don’t use harmful chemicals in your home, try to walk or to bike more that using transport, and don’t forget about recycling. And soon you will see the results.

When at school, I personally took an active part in clearing up surrounding area. My classmates and I  collected cans, bottles and packaging and put them into different bins for further recycling. We planted trees and it was fun, at the same time we were helping the environment. Nowadays I also try to save energy and water at home. When writing, I use both sides of the paper.

All in all, there are many things we can do. And without doubt, they bring a lot of benefits.
