Pirate Dreams

   In an old Portuguese village there lives a girl named Luisa. She is 16 years old, and all her life she admires sea adventures. She lives in a low-income, but close-knit family. Her mother Martha, who is very kind and understanding, works as a seamstress in an atelier near the house. The father, named Pablo, is a serious and strict, but very sympathetic and good-natured person, all his life he tries to work hard to support the family. And Luisa has two younger brothers, Jorge and Alexandro, they are twins, and they are 7 years old. The whole family lives in an old village on the Atlantic Ocean. It is not large in size. The village has several large markets on the coast, cafes and bars open and close, and locals try to develop trade.
  Louise is doing well at school, her parents are proud of her and want her to go to a prestigious university and work in a decent job in the future. She tries very hard to help her parents. After school, she helps her mother around the house and looks after her brothers, and also works as a waitress in the evenings at a bar near the house. She gets very tired every day, but she never forgets to read.
  Louise likes to read adventure books, and her most favorite books are books about pirates, about ships, about the seas and oceans, about the battles and the life of pirates. She likes to dream and imagine that she is a pirate and that she is sailing on a ship in the open sea or ocean. She imagines and seems to feel the fresh spray of salt water, the warm rays of the sun, and the light and cool sea breeze that has enveloped her from head to foot. In her dreams, she is free from all the daily routine, she is alone with the endless seas and oceans, she lives in a team of people who are like a second family to her. But these were just her dreams, she thought, until the moment came that completely turned her life around.
  The day at Louise's family began as usual. In the morning, she and her brothers went to school, and her parents hurried to work. After lunch when she and her brothers returned from school, Jorge and Alexandro went for a walk, while Luisa went about her household chores. After she was done with all her chores, she had to go to the market for groceries.

The market was located on the coast and was very picturesque, on the way Louise admired the views and did not notice how she got to it. She walked around the market, which was filled with merchants and shops selling various goods and products. Louise walked through the market and came to the shore, to the big ships that sold seafood. She wanted to buy some fresh fish to cook for her family for dinner. Louise came to a very beautiful and large ship with the ladder lowered and the sails gathered, and her breath caught in her throat, because it was like a dream. From her admiration, she was distracted by a cute guy, he was short, with blond hair and was dressed in a light gray T-shirt and shorts. He saw her and said: "Dear lady, can I tell you something?" She turned away from the ship and looked at him, this guy was familiar to her, and she said to him, " Frederick, is that really you? I didn't expect to see you here!" This was her childhood friend, with whom they spent a lot of time together when they were children. It was with him that they ran around the ocean and imagined that they were brave pirates and the whole ocean was just them. Frederick was pleasantly surprised, you could see it in his eyes, which seemed to light up with joy. - Louise, hi! What fates? It's been so long since we've seen each other! Frederick exclaimed. She replied: "I came to the market for food, and what are you doing here? We haven't met since you transferred to another school in the fifth grade! How are you doing? "I'm all right, I'm a cabin boy on a pirate ship right now." This is very cool! I will never forget our childhood dreams of becoming real pirates. To be honest, I would give anything now to work on a ship among pirates and live such an interesting life, " she said. After a moment's thought Frederick said: "I can help you get on our ship, we just need a pair of skilled hands right now, and as far as I remember, you are a brave girl and are not afraid of difficulties and work!". Louise was very surprised by the offer of an old friend, but it seemed to her that her soul burst into a very bright flame, she opened a second wind. She told him: "Of course, this is a very interesting offer, and I would love to accept it, but how will my family be without me? Frederick said to Louise: "If you decide to fulfill your cherished dream, then come to this place at midnight, we will go to the shores of the neighboring cities, and then return back to our village.". When evening came, Louise finished her chores and began to read her favorite book about sea adventures, which she had read many times before. My parents and brothers have returned home. Louise noticed the sad faces of her mother and father, but was not surprised to think that they were tired at work. But this was not the case. Her mother and father approached Louise, who immediately put down her book and made it clear that she was listening to them. "Louise, we have some bad news. Your mother was fired from her job. Louise was in shock. - The workshop where I worked was closed, and a butcher shop will be built in its place. I was given a salary only for the last month of work. Louise was very upset and knew that it would be much more difficult for them to live now. Louise was very eager to support her parents and said: "Dear Mom and Dad, my brothers and I love you very much and more than anything we don't want you to give up. Together, having experienced this, we will succeed!" The parents, as if exhaling, calmed down a little. It was almost midnight, and Louise's mind was busy talking to Frederick. But still, she decided to take a step towards her dream! Before leaving, she waited until everyone in the house was asleep, packed up her things, wrote a note to her family, put it and the money she had saved from working at the bar on the kitchen table, and headed to her destination. Louise ran and imagined that her dream would soon come true, she was very happy! Frederick and the pirate crew that Frederick had spoken to and arranged to meet Louis were waiting for her.

They all looked very confident, like in the books Louise had read. She approached them, and they began to get acquainted. There were about fifteen people in all. They gave her the clothes she needed to change into and went on board the ship. Louise couldn't believe her eyes and was very shocked. As it was night, they went to their cabins and went to bed. The next morning, Louisa was awakened by loud shouts calling for everyone to come on deck. She was not at a loss and was one of the first to be there. While everyone was getting ready, Louise noticed that they were already quite far from the shore. Three minutes later, everyone was there. The formidable captain of the ship told everyone about his tasks, and finally it was the turn of Louise, who, being the youngest and newest on the ship, got the dirtiest job. Everyone quickly began to perform their duties, everyone did everything clearly, there was serious discipline, but, of course, not the upbringing and politeness of the pirates were missed.

He hurt Louise in every way, but she knew how to react. While Louise washed the deck, she admired the open ocean and the atmosphere on the ship. The evening came very quickly. All the pirates gathered for dinner. Louise expected a lack of culture from the pirates and was right, she was not used to such behavior and quickly went down to her cabin and fell asleep. So the five days of their journey passed, not a single day different from the previous one. One cloudy day, Louis, as usual. She did the dirty work on the ship, but it didn't cause her any negative emotions. She noticed that the pirates were beginning to scurry, the captain running around the deck with binoculars.

She notices that the sea is not calm, but continues to do her job. And at some point, the ship begins to sway with terrible force, and everything on the ship is flying from side to side, including people. Everyone tries to hide from this horror, but it happens more and more often. The ship was flooded with water, but there was not much of it. This horror lasted for two hours, and gradually the ocean began to calm down. After all this, the ship fell into a terrible state, and Louise and the other pirates restored it to its former appearance. Three days later, they reached their destination and engaged in the seafood trade and selling items stolen on previous trips.

Louise tried to help and follow the orders of the captain, she made a pleasant impression on him. Her relationship with the team also began to improve. They had been in this city for almost four days and had already sold everything. The next day, all the pirates gathered on the ship and prepared to go home. The return journey was excellent and uneventful. Throughout the journey, Louise enjoyed and was very happy, but could not forget about her family. After nine days in the ocean, they arrived at the village. All this time, Louise was very fond of all the pirates and became friends with them. On the last day, she asked the captain to gather everyone on deck and told them: "My dears, during my stay on your ship, I was very happy and enjoyed every second, but I also have my own family on land who need my support, and I need them."

The pirates immediately understood what Louise wanted to say, and unanimously supported her. Upon arrival, she said a warm goodbye to everyone and went home with the hope that she would return to this amazing life...
