Fairies Perhaps, no one will have questions about who are fairies. Fairy tales with participation of fairies exist all over the world. And English fairy tales are no exception. How can you describe these creatures? These creatures (usually women) have a magical power, a magical gift. Often they are the godmothers of the august, princes and princesses, at baptism presenting them with special gifts, both good and not so good. Why? Because fairies are not at all as simple as they seem. Despite their kindness, they are touchy and vindictive. Think of a fairy tale about the Sleeping Beauty or the movie "Enchanted Ella". For this reason, they are often afraid.

Elves Another creature, whose name is known to everyone - elf . What are they? Judging only by the world-famous work of John Ronald Ruel Tolkien and the films made on its basis, the answer is obvious - good. But with them again, the situation is not so simple. According to the beliefs of the Germanic and Scandinavian peoples, all elves are good or evil. But in British mythology, elves are strange creatures. They are not evil, but they can not be called good tongue, because they have their own oddities and their leprosy. But against this background, one of their vices manifests itself very clearly. Elves love to steal. And if they hunted for gold! But no. They are more fond of newborns, whom elves often replace with their children, and those, due to special abilities, with their cries and whims can not lime that the family, but the whole village. Still they very much like young brides, and they are often taken away to forests and hills.

The origin of the word "goblin" is also interesting. According to one version, this name came from the German language ("kobold" in German means "spirit of the mine") and, as a result of distortion, got such a sound. Initially, it was believed that the goblins and the mentioned spirits are in general nothing different. There is another version, according to which the word came into English from the ancient Greek language, of course, undergoing some modifications. In ancient Greek, it denoted pedestrians of ancient Greek warriors, who in their own guise could turn the enemy into flight, because they looked extremely frightening. In general, the essence is one: goblins are extremely hard-hitting beings. Agree, even the name itself somewhat hurts the rumor.
