We are all people. We all have nearly the same chemical reactions which are running in our organism. We all dream and want the same things. And this subject was studied by the great psychologist Maslow, who showed it in his pyramid of necessities. But if we all have something in common why do we speak different languages?
The Bible has a legend about the Babel Tower. According to this legend people, who survived after the Great Flood decided to build a tower, which would reach the sky. They were led by Nimrod. He created a powerful state and he was so excited by his first success and he decided to do a worldwide monarchy against the God's will declared to children of Hama (Nimrod was one of them) to be slaves of others. The constructing of the tower was against the God's will in the first and second precepts of the Old Testament. And when the work had begun the God punished the builders. He mixed their languages so they couldn't understand each other and couldn't finish the construction. After some time they spread all over the Earth. It is just a myth, but it has its core.
At the beginning all languages were coming from one parent language which was divided into Australian, Makrokoyskaya, Indo-pacific, African- Eurasian and Amerind mega families which after words began to be divided too. At any time people always wanted to make their international communication easier: they wanted to speak one language. For example, in the XXth century people made a try to create a special language Esperanto. Esperanto is the most famous artificial language, which was made by a Warsaw oculist Lazarus Zamengoff in 1887. But the try to make this language international was failed. However, Esperanto still exists like a national language in a lot of countries.
Nowadays there are lots of dying-out languages all over the world. Such global languages as English, Spanish, French began to displace languages which are not so expanded, but still important languages. For racial minorities it's really a big problem. For example, the Koryak language is closed to dissappear now. All over the world only five people can speak __it. Losing their mother language the Koryaks began to lose a part of themselves __and now, when the language is nearly extinct there are not more than 2000 __native people.
Being a bilingual in some sense, I can realize what language does in our mind. I have already been studying English for 9 years and now I can surely say that it's my mother tongue as well as Russian. Also I have been studying Chinese for 4 years. It's difficult to say exactly when you pass from studying language to understanding.
Every language makes its own features, creates its own mentality. For instance, studying English I began to express my ideas clearlier, because English is a commercial language. And with studying Chinese I began to see more sense in ordinary things, because Chinese is a language of philosophy.
Despite of singularity of each language people always strove for unity. Nowadays IGIL is trying to reach it, but with more cruel realization. They profess Islam and speak Arabic. It's a terroristic organization which wants to subordinate the world to one religion and one language. They are making terroristic attacks and they are for hostilities. But could they make us love their language and force people to speak it? In our history we have already such examples: the crusades. The church was uniting lands with the help of conquests of crusades for the God's name. But because of these campaigns a lot of blood was spilled. Yes, that was a result. But was it worth all that?
IGIL brings not only mentality destructions but also material destructions. Their actions cause divestitures. For instance, not so long ago there were some terroristic attacks in France that brought death to a number of people. Now all the world supports Paris and helps people who suffered from IGIL's acts.
Material destructions are not only dangerous because of victims but also with their consequences. Remember, for example, the Chernobyl damage, when the radioactive cloud went to the direction of Europe. But they weren't guilty in it . Or poisoning of the river Amur from Chinese side. As a result there weren't fish anymore on the Russian side and the river became poisoned. Nature despises war catastrophes and damages , we can't say who made it and who is guilty. Anyway they will destroy our world.
Now we are trying to build a new "Babel tower" of peace all over the world, but we speak different languages, we have different cultures, different perceptions and despite all that if any catastrophe is in one place of our planet, it will be felt for sure in another. It doesn't matter what differences we have, what they are and how much, we live in one world...
